lovely patterns and fabrics. I also bought the Frida patchwork fabric from another supplier. Had hoped to make a blouse, but it felt too scratchy with the polyester content. I made it up into a lightweight kimono style jacket with ties down the front which worked really well and looks good with a plain tee under it. Finding it lovely to wear on a medium temperature day, do find it too hot on a very warm day, maybe I am no longer used to wearing polyester!

@@janevellenderartist I know what you mean. The polyester content does make it feel scratchy, so I will be making a duster jacket or a kimono like you mention. ❤️

The Bound to be Tee was my first Pattern Emporium pattern, and I think it's my favourite t-shirt pattern so far. I have been in the process of making some plain t-shirts to replace all my old ready to wear ones, as they are looking a bit jaded now. I do like the binding neckline rather than a normal neckband insertion, and it's very easy following the detailed instructions. My sewing room is in a bit of a state at the moment, as I am moving things around to make a better workflow, so in addition to slowing down due to covid (now negative and feeling much better) I haven't got much done this past couple of weeks, but I am trying not to buy new fabrics and to work through my stash of both new and leftover fabric. But I do love that Frida Kahlo fabric!

@@Yorkygirl59 I'm going to try the Bound to be tee this afternoon. Quite excited 😊 If it goes well I will be purchasing an array of jersey knits to kick-start my capsule wardrobe sewing project. I need to stop talking about it and get on with it, but fabrics like the Frida Kahlo are such a distraction..... Keep focused Kim!! I love reorganising my room to get it to flow better. Good luck with your room and happy sewing ❤️

Oh my goodness, you certainly didn’t disappoint, I love, love, love the fact you are not afraid of colour, and I wait in anticipation for your creations. The last two fabrics were so luxurious, I think a Nero collared long jacket or shirt (like Judi Dench wears in Marigold hotel) with slits up the side and a Kaftan, I live in mine during the hot weather, so cooling, also as it’s a large piece, it would show off the bigger patterns. Also I am really looking forward to seeing the Balloon blouse, that is my kind of garment, and I love the Lagenlook, lots of layers of lighter garments. I am with you, I do not like showing my upper arms. So much to look forward to, I am quite excited. Enjoy your weekend. 😊

@@mandiesmaison458 I have taken note of your suggestions and will be doing my research. Could definitely do with a kaftan tonight, that's for sure 🔥🌞 the colours are amazing and I want to show them off. Have a fabulous week. Enjoy the sun ❤️

First all, I love your hair. You must have just come from the hairdressers! So many wonderful patterns and fun fabrics. You will have such a good time with it all. I didn't see any of those plain fabrics you were wanting to go with things in your wardrobe but what you bought was beautiful and I look forward to seeing them made up. I'm also looking forward to your Queen of Diamonds quilt. I'm not a quilter but the blocks you made for it are stunning. You are so organized with you fabric cataloging, I almost want to pull everything out and start over with your great system. Have a wonderful time sewing.

@@kathymcconville6428 thanks Kathy. I know I keep saying I'm trying to organise my wardrobe, but there are so many pretty patterned fabrics and I get so distracted by them. My quilt is coming along nicely and there should be a video soon on that. I organise my fabrics, patterns, threads because I hate wasting time looking for stuff I know I have. Some days I just potter in my sewing room doing nothing but organising. I find it very relaxing!! ❤️

Loving the Frieda fabric, wish I could get it here in Australia. Seeming you are enjoying the Pattern Emporium patterns (which I love) have you looked at the Songbird Duster Jacket or the My embrace Cocoon Cardi. They would both show up that beautiful design. Also on Fridays Kate selects a pattern and you can get it for half price if you are on her email list. 😊. Keep up the good work and happy sewing 💕

Hi there I’m so glad I have stumbled on your podcasts -you offer so much information and I especially loved how you mentioned how you store your fabric in such an orderly manner with the index cards detailing all the information for each piece. I will certainly start doing the same with mine. I am a doctor originally from Cardiff but now live and work out in the UAE and just love all things related to craft such as sewing, making quilts, crochet and needlepoint. I will certainly be looking out for your future podcasts. Finally I wanted to ask how you became such an expert seamstress -have you taken any courses or is it just self taught?

@@SarahEl-hadi hi Sarah. Thank you for joining my little channel. I was, many moons ago, a Personal Assistant, and spent most of my working life organising other peoples lives. I love order. I can work in a mess, but I need to know that I can find what I want as and when I need it. I learnt to sew at school and dabbled on and off for years making clothes for myself and the kids. Though I was seriously into knitting when I was younger. I've just carried on sewing through the years, learning and picking up techniques, but then the pandemic hit, my son left home, so I snapped his room and finally had somewhere to sew and, being self-employed by this time, had lots of time on my hands. I'm self-caught... Watch a lot of talented people on KZbin 🤣 As I now had a dedicated sewing space I could concentrate on getting a better fit, playing with patterns. Gone are the days working from my hot conservatory and a small cupboard 🙏 I also love everything crafty. I wouldn't call myself an expert, rather a neat freak. I take my time, read a pattern and plan! ❤️

@@stash_stitcher Many thanks for sharing your experience. I fully agree with you when you say that with dressmaking it is important to take your time , read the pattern and plan carefully. Once I retire I am hoping to go back into making my own clothes for myself so thank you once again for all the inspiration that you give xx

Hi Kim, wow, you've been having a good spending spree, you won't know what to make first. Can I ask how you recycle your handmade clothes. All my local charity shops refuse them. They can't tell me why. I know some shops accept them and put them into the scrap fabric bin, I think they sell it all by weight. Sometimes, I have items that have never been worn because I didn't like them or a bad fit, and I have nowhere to pass them on to. Just wondered if you have encountered this. Have a lovely week x😊

@@linvin18 thank you Lin Our local charity shops, and we have many, accept clothes, but I haven't recycled much since the pandemic. I had a huge clear out when we were locked-down, but as I've been thinking about my wardrobe lately I might need to do another declutter. Have a lovely week ❤️

@mandiesmaison458 There is a bin outside my local Morrisons for the Salvation Army which I've started to use. I'm just curious as a lot of KZbinrs say they have donated their clothes to charity shops. 🤔
