REALLY nice seats in the background. They would look stunning in my e30. Lots of saving still left for me.

I use CAD (Cardboard Aided Design) to 👍🏻 Great job on the catch can mate. By the way as nice as the F6 Falcon is, I’m more interested in the Commodore parked beside it in the workshop. Is that car going to feature in an upcoming video.
@TorqHub3 жыл бұрын
No mate, that isn't our workshop space but it's where the F6 was to have a few last bits buttoned up. We arent sure who the VL belongs to and we aren't doing any work on that one. But, there will be other commodore content coming soon 😉👍🏻

Old video i know, but if you want a better tool for cutting aluminum. get a jig saw with a metal blade, and get those felt stickies that you put on the bottom of chair legs and put them on the bottom guide of the jig saw. it will not scratch your aluminum, and you can be super accurate with the jig saw, even doing curves etc.

Hey mate, sorry, I'm not sure exactly what settings I used back then, but I usually stick to the same settings roughly. 80-100 amps on the pedal 33% ac bal (ep cleaning action) 90Hz freq Adv square ac profile/ sine wave woks good too 5356 2.4 filler 6 lpm argon #6 cup. Cheers man

Help me understand wouldn't it suck the air threw the vent and loose sucking pressure from the engine. Iv seen this on a few videos of homemade cans
@TorqHubКүн бұрын
It's not meant to 'suck'. It's an avenue for positive crankcase pressure to vent to atmosphere. When that happens it often pushes oil and moisture out, hence why it is a reservoir to catch any oil displaced. If it were sealed, the crank case pressure wouldn't be able to vent, thus defeating the purpose.
@garymorgan209512 сағат бұрын
@TorqHub But doesn't come off the pcv hook up to the intake or is this something different. I'm trying to learn so don't think I'm judging you or saying you wrong. And thanks for replying
@TorqHub11 сағат бұрын
@garymorgan2095 nah when you use a catch can, you block the PCV to the intake off. This way you don't have oil or moisture entering the intake and contaminating the air fuel mix in the chamber which could contribute to detonation.

Great work bro! Looks awesome. I have a question though... The pipe that's been extended inwards from the vent, does that ever get blocked up being so long? Or could I build mine using about a 50mm piece extending inwards? Would appreciate the advice. Have a good one.
@TorqHub2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate! Yeah the pipe extended through the top was cut on an angle and was basically used as shield to stop the crank case fumes having a straight run back out of the filter as the position of the inlets is very close. Regular checking/ draining of the catch can keeps everything in check. 50mm should fine mate. Thanks for watching man.
@jplcustoms16422 жыл бұрын
@@TorqHub yeah that totally makes sense. I didn't factor in the gasses getting sucked straight out through the vent. I'm going build mine to circulate back into the intake pipe. But thanks for the video. Gave me some ideas. 👍🏻

No worries at all. I'm glad you got some ideas! Thanks mate

Curious on why I see a lot of ppl (mainly guys from aus/nz) use 5005 on tanks etc rather than using 3003 or 5052? Seems like a lot of ppl in USA use those alloys. Is it a strength thing or is 5005 just more readily available where you are? Killer work btw!
@TorqHub Жыл бұрын
5005 is easy for us to get here and bends nicely when pressing, with no risk of cracking, etc. It's just a nice all-around malleable alloy with plenty of strength for the intended purpose. Thanks for dropping in man!

Hey bud. I love the vid. Also saw you were using an ever last welding machine… what machine was it? And were you welding aluminum with 110volts or 220volts connection? Would love a reply.

Hi Alberto, we run 240v here in Aus, uts a single phase machine on a 15amp circuit. the machine is the everlast 210 ext. Thanks for watching mate 👍

Why is the air filter has a long tub to the bottom?
@HAK_XIN7 ай бұрын
Is it to prevent the oil from spilling into it? And how should the tub be
@TorqHub7 ай бұрын
The tube doesn't go all the way to the bottom, it's basically just used as a shield to stop crank case fumes going straight from the inlet fittings put the filter. Thanks for watching!
