It’s definitely a skill I have learnt over the years. I think I can cut a miter better with a grinder than some bandsaws can lol😂 thanks mate

Reminds me of my first job, sweeping up at MGC in Wadebridge in the late 70’s. I loved having a go with the bandsaw and there was a forge too which was a firm favourite of mine. Glad to see some KZbin content from Kernow!

Amen to that mate. I love this machine, I still have a lot to get used to on it as it was new only a couple weeks ago but so far so good. I got the smaller pico 160 pulse stick welder and that’s the best unit I have every had for mobile work. Great little welder

Tidy work as always Adam. Nice to get in to some more detail on KZbin. Liked the little angle bracket tacked to the table as a jig. I overlook jigging way too much so really gonna try and utilise it going forward Keep the vids coming Jack
@semmenssteelfabrication23152 жыл бұрын
Cheers Jac, your work is probably like mine that most of it is one off items or maybe 2 of them so it’s hard to justify a jig. These were easy to make up and just helped make sure all frames were exactly the same. Cheers pal

Really enjoyed watching your work and learned loads. Probably a pain for you but could you do a short if on how you fabricated the plasma guide. I know it looks like a piece of thick angle with rebar handle and another piece set up from the cut line but a quick tour on how you made it would help quite a few of us. Cheers looking forward to more vids already 👍

What are your thoughts on running dual shield flux core wire on structural, is it used muck in the UK?
@semmenssteelfabrication23152 жыл бұрын
It’s not used that much over here and I don’t know why. I have some here and love it and will look to get coded for using it in the future as it’s definitely nice to run and the tests I have done so far and given really nice depth of fusion on etch cuts 👍🏻

What kind of scribe are you using?
@semmenssteelfabrication23152 жыл бұрын
It’s made by draper, they are pretty cheap but super sharp. I just cover mine with bright tape so that I don’t loose it
@michaellawrence45812 жыл бұрын
Great video, whats the scriber/pencil you use for marking out the steel? Brand or model?
@semmenssteelfabrication23152 жыл бұрын
Hi ya. I use a dealer scribe. I think tungsten tip or a carbide tip in it. They are cheap and last ages mate. Just wrap them in a bright tap or they get lost too easy 😂

what size Wire did you use for the spray transfer.
@semmenssteelfabrication23152 жыл бұрын
On this one i was using 1.2mm solid wire. I use 0.8, 1.0 and 1.2mm wire on different jobs and different machines. We have a smaller machine here that i always keep 0.8mm wire in is we have railings and fiddly bits to do.

i cringe when i see you use a combi square as much as you do. in my experience,after a while the combi square tends to get a bit slack and floppy where you tighten it up. id stick to using solid calibrated squares. dont get me wrong im not just picking faults, its just little tips that might help you in the long run.

What's this "cranked steel" ? Is the metal on meth, or is the fabricator ?
@semmenssteelfabrication23152 жыл бұрын
No sir, that’s exactly how it is described on the structural engineers documents and drawings related to this job. I don’t know where your based but don’t forget descriptions can vary between country’s

@@semmenssteelfabrication2315 You refer to the dichotomy between England and the rest of the English speaking world with the two groups separated by a common language. Yes, in England, every lad with a fifteen pound set of spanners from the hardware section at Tesco calls himself an engineer. Other places a child in the sixth level of schooling would have his ears soundly boxed for turning in a paper with the appalling scrawls passing for penmanship displayed in those hand done customer sketches you showed us.
