Lakmali seems more honest on answering some of the awkward questions. Particularly on NPP wealth declaration. I think JVP members don't work, nor do they run businesses. So they got to be funded by party membership and well wishers. One can connect the recent visits of AKD, perhaps to seek more funds from their party mechanism overseas. It could be massive sums.

Maithri’s initial remarks reflected the “Captured state” of the country today. He was on the mark on RR and the dismal failure of this government, however beyond that he was like a preacher going on about ideologies sans any pragmatic ideas Lakmali was very articulate and responded exceptionally well to Shameer’s tricky questions. She was definitely the standout in the context of policy response.

wow Lakmali you nailed it. well, sad thing is people like Dr Mendis still running behind Corrupted UNP shadow. UNP and SJB both same and its clear cut. interestingly they acted the same way and proved it. so both SJB and UNP out. And also SJB leader does not have a true personality and they do not have any clear path. People are ready for NPP and they will win for sure. Bravo NPP.

At one point in this show it was a dogs breakfast , so many interventions from Najeem and Shameer, particularly Shameer coming close to using bullying tactics to trip up Lakmali and not allowing her to respond to questions completely.

Lakmali was the standout performer here and articulated her views better than most others who have represented NPP before. She should show up at more interactive sessions as she is both intelligent and smart although still young. These are the future pillars of SL politics. Great.

Lakmali, minimum wage is one thing, and actuals paid in factories are another thing. This is one problem you guys have...understanding reality vs what's in the books.

Another fictitious response from this person. For discussion purposes one can only go by the minimum wage and Bangladeshi is double SL.’s. Some companies will pay above the minimum wage for certain skills and those higher levels of wages will relate to the base minimum wage, which is universal in most international companies. So this is the reality.

Don’t think so. To me she was quite clear, that some businesses might need to be privatised but not ones like Telecom, CEB etc which can be run profitably with good management in place.

@@NalakaDasanayake No she was against privatizing SLIC, Hayatt and HILTON. I have seen even AKD clearly saying that the Govt should get out of the business of running Hotels. So she isn't clear about the NPP policy on Privatization.
