I am disconnecting from FB. I already have been informed from 2 other family members, that they are also disconnecting from FB. We are looking into Bluesky, and I am looking elsewhere to disconnect from Amazon as well. By the way, I live in a Republican State, and something I noticed, is that a large part of MAGA, as well as Republicans, do not shop on Amazon or use FB. I know, because I work in retail. They don’t even use google search. The younger generation do, but the late 40s and up rarely do. People my age at 62 here in Montana don’t use Amazon, FB or google search. The 5 years I have been here, besides myself are probably 2/3 other women my age that do use those sites, but no 62 year old men that I have come across. By the way, I am a Democrat, on the Right Side of History!

The problem is that facts are near the bottom of Bloom's Taxonomy for a reason. You can give two experts the same set of facts and you can get two legit, but different answers to an issue. Too many times the "fact checkers" were censoring legit opinions. Take covid and the two doctors from Bakersfield as an example. They were simply asking questions on if the lockdowns were the best route and were censored. I am not on facebook but I have had comments removed from SB Nation and KZbin when I simply quoted a NEJM paper with Fauci as the lead author in relation to covid. That is an issue.

Also, JD Vance showed the flaws of fact checking in his debate with Walz. On the Haitian migrants issue he was "fact checked" and he came back with more details on the issues. That is isn't as easy as "they are here legally". It was arguably abusing a law and putting around 15,000 migrants of a different culture in a town of 60,000 people will cause issues. So it isn't as simple as "they are here legally' via a "fact check". there is more to it.
