Most "real sport" are currently in absolut shambles due to covid since they are no longer allowed to fill arenas which are their main income. So many are probably borrowing money to stay aflot and pay player fee's. But looking at it with a logical mindset that is a bandaid fix to a problem that is probably not going away, not anytime soon. So it is only a matter of time before "real sport" are not a profitable thing to run anymore. The entire industry is about to go under. Which leaves us with only e-sport. Also just playing a contact sport during a pandemic is probably not a very smart thing to do so the players are in big risks even if they are broadcasting it on the TV. Real sport is too volatile atm and will continue to be so.

I mean overtime will change or sure since 10 years ago most of us were on high school and now we are adults that watch esports, but very very few of the older people will watch video games tournaments if you ignore the "i don't watch kid argument" a moba game for example is really hard to understand as a first time viewer unless you have someone that explain to you as you watch is impossible to grasp what is going on. I think other esports can have a lot of succes even with people that don't play videogames, an example will be CS:GO since the pace is slow enough to understand what is happening, people can understand what the guns and roles of each member is after 1 match, and the goal is straight forward.

And all the flame they took? Both are likely still much better then the two guys you mentioned. Why? Well... they had expierence in the competetive scene. They knew what it is like to play coordinateted 5vs5. For more then one challenger year. Now imagine Evolved playing the Spring Split. TSM will likely miss the PlayOffs... A noisy fanbase will be like "WHY DO WE HAVE THIS SHIT MIDLANER? BJERGESEN COME BACK PLS!!! BENCH THAT DUDE" and you completly destroy this probably promising youngstar. And dont act as if TSM Fans didnt want to see anyone but Bjergsen benched... That would be their reaction. And yes, NA needs to find ways to develope talent. But just throwing 18 year old Kids with little competetive expierence into the LCS wont help anyone.

hopefully not... I honestly cant envision Perkz playing for someone else then G2. He led this team from Challenger to World Championship Contender. And it was like the only team he ever played for. (Except those 3 months, when he was somehow on Millenium...) I mean even Bjergsen, who played for Copenhagen Wolves and Ninjas in Pyjamas on TSM (who also reached Worlds before he joined) is not on the same level. We are talking "Dirk Nowitzki on the Mavericks" territory here. Don't ruin that legacy by going to another team... And I'm not even a G2 Fan. But stories like that can have an amazing reach. And that reach can help the entire scene grow more into the mainstream. Now Caps going back to FNatic... I am all for that.

If LCS abolishes the import rule, I'll just watch LPL highlights. What is the attraction for NA fans? Even if they abolish the rule, the level of play will almost undoubtedly continue be lower than the LPL, LCK, and LEC. I don't think that many NA fans actually give a shit about orgs besides TSM (for now). The majority just follow certain players.

College football is actually praised more than NFL a lot of times. College athletes typically have more heart seeing as they are playing their hearts out for no money for the HOPE of securing their future by joining the NFL. From what I've seen, the only time NFL is more favored is around playoffs where of course the race for the Championship is more spectacular than what the College scene can offer. Edit: The LCS Academy is not equivalent to College football because 1. Veterans from LCS are in it (there are no NFL players going BACK to play college lol) and 2. Academy players, at least in the NA, don't actually get more of a chance to play in the actual LCS just because they do well in Academy. If you win the Heisman or are the Mvp in college you are most likely going to the NFL, whereas in LCS if you are the Mvp and win the Academy split you are most likely going to have a Korean/EU/Washed-up-NA/Fuckin-Oceina player picked over you and you'll rot in Academy with nothing to show for your achievements and dedication.

@@F33TUS The revenue has nothing to do with its popularity with how the economy of sports is set up. I also said praised not favored for a reason. The NFL is pushed on you, college is kinda just there so there's going to be a difference in how many view it just because of that, which makes sense because again, NFL is the goal and there are player salaries that need to be payed. That doesn't make it worthy of more praise though. From what I've seen, in person and on forums and even from some news analysts, most people watch more NFL yes, but fans of the core of the sport also watch college football and prefer it for some of the reasons I listed. Again, of course NFL is gonna have more attention since casual sports watchers are only really going to know about it due to how it's advertised. Think about it. A kid from WI that never had a TV, an got home schooled for high school, probably still knows who the Packers are. Hell people who have never watched a single game their whole life know the Patriots. Being "popular" is not the same as actually being better.

The better comp is NHL/AHL IMO. Baseball would be comparable but they have so many tiers of minor leagues. The G-League could be an alright comparison because it’s not really come to fruition either, but College is the pipeline to pro in basketball too. In the AHL you have a lower tier of competition but it’s made up of vets taking paychecks instead of retiring, middling journeymen who move up and down, and young guns hoping for a shot.

G2 had a really bumpy year with lots of downs, perkz dad died and they slumped the entirety of summer. Coming in to worlds they had to adapt to a new meta that didn't suit them at all and play against teams that had practiced this meta for much longer. Even with all of this they made it to semis, why are you acting like it's the end for the team? They were still contenders for worlds even through all of these difficulties and without them and a meta that suits them better, wouldn't they have a good chance of winning next year?

Oké could someone explain this to me. Why are na orgs able to pay so much more than Eu orgs? The viewership used to be higher but that isn't the case anymore. Also Eu does way better the last couple of years so you would think some money is going their way. They have more exposure on the International stage then na does. I know that taxes are really low when you compare NA with Eu. (if you earn like 100.000 a year you will have to pay half of that in taxes.) also the LCS and lec both went through changes with led to more sponsors no more relegation and thus led to more money. As a fan I just can't figure out were this gap comes from. Also will this gap ever close?

LCK summer 2015: SKT had a series record of 17-1 and a game record of 35-6 in the regular season and they won 3-0 in the finals.. In worlds they lost only one game and that too was in the finals ... SKT had a better record than Damwon .. imo Damwon's run was more impressive

@1:22:00: Ok, here is the problem with Bjergsens Solo Kills: He did this on the LCS stage consistently, but playing like that at Worlds never really worked. So yeah, he got the ocasional Solo Kill (on Crown in 2016, on Nagne in 2015, on TPA Morning and TPA Winds in 2014... and that should be it). Each of these single outplays look sick, but Solo Killing the enemy midlaner once per Worlds just... well... doesnt get you ot of groups in the end. But then again, this isnt Bjergsens fault... that TSMs Season Plan seemed to be "He is soo good, he can just outplay", which obviously doesnt work against better competition.

You could very well argue that the game is not only about lane, but using your advantage to impact the map and that itself is a skill. Using solo kills as a metric to show proficient a player is ok, but its not the whole picture

@@Koffe382 the argument I am having is, that Dome claims Bjergsen consistently solokilled Midlaner at "international events"... when he did it once a year... Just for comparison: Febiven solo killed Faker twice in one tournament, if I am correct. Westdoot did it aswelll. xPeke solo killed Dade, when that dude was world class... Yet no one would have put those guys in the Top 5 Midlaners of the year discussion because of one outplay. And Bjergsens sad international legacy was, that he never could transfer his dominant outplays to the World Stage... except for tiny moments, where he showed what would have been possible, had he not been so lethargic...

I know Dom is renowned as a flamer and somewhat toxic and whatever, but the contrast between him and LS recently has been nice to see, even if it is just for the show. The quick quips about Broxah is enough to at least see that Dom isn't the super next level edge Lord we all know.

I got a different amount of respect for these dudes, the game has such high variance, over 150 champs, the number of different pro players in the world with unique playstyles, and they still can accurately predict each game. Their brains assess all of the factors that play into each game and can read what can happen before the game, they are truly talented individuals

Tbh I kinda hate people hating in players making money in NA if there is money to be made in NA (and there is) I'm glad it's going to the players and not being held by the teams. NA not being able to do well on the world stage has more to do with the world stage than NA. There are very few video games where the US is the best at, these types are one of them.

People are crazy. Its honestly like because the stereotype tsm fans are so delusional and just detached from reality (everyone just hates us, Bjergsen never had help ever, BB isn't even worth an import slot) that everyone else has to push back just as extremely (bjergsen was never good ever, IEM Championship meant nothing at all, TSM/NA have NEVER been relevant internationally). It sucks as a rational fan who can both praise when Bjergsen was actually top 5, acknowledge that he has fallen off heavily, and that TSM has a terrible history of underpreforming at Worlds and MSI, and has almost always had a dead weight player on the roster). I feel bad for Dom bc you can tell, he isn't exactly friendly to the TSM fans bc of how absurd they can get, but here he is defending bjerg against the opposite, the absurdity of tsm haters. It's honestly as bad as red v blue politics sometimes in league

I used to be a TSM fan and was driven out not by TSM or by any of its players, but by the subreddit. I wasn't harsh or mean or flaming in any way, but I'd question things: "Is DL really a world class adc, or are we just looking back with rose tinted goggles?" and "I don't think Zilean is a pick that will work on the world stage". After a few posts like that, I got attacked and verbally insulted by people who - and I kid you not - used the fact that I had posted on a Crusader Kings 3 subreddit weeks back as proof that I was "not a real TSM fan". Wow. Sorry I like to play other games occasionally.

@@cavalyn Yep you hit the nail on the coffin with that one. The only reason I was clinging on to TSM is because of Spica, BB and Bjergsen who I felt deserved to win atleast a split. Now I'm having doubts about my support.

Posted one day on the sub that I didn’t think Zven was playing well and got verbally abused and banned using the logic that since I had double flags in rlol and posted that I was trolling. CuVee was good in s6 s7 s8, in s7 he withstanding Khan Cuzz pressure is the biggest reason why they win that series and world. Huni was trash against, while smurf on all other worlds top laner. While Crown in s7 already shows he is the weakest link. Grad he find a champ pool that works for him in that worlds, so he can survive when Ambition covering him 24/7.
