Not surprised at all that MCR is one of his influences. Him and Josh's live performances remind me a lot of My Chem because of how insanely passionate they play their music. That and they have such dark lyrics played over (for the most part) happy sounding, energetic music. Their genre of music is completely different from MCR, obviously, but the aesthetic is certainly the same. The emotions they bring out are the same. Shit, no wonder I fell in love with them so quickly. I just realized that the first time I listened to TØP mirrors the first time I listened to Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge. I know Tyler's influenced by a ton of different artists, but that just stood out to me.

The fact that he writes music for cathartic reasons really distinguishes Tyler from other popular musicians. Music that comes from the soul never goes bad, that's why I can't decide which album is my favorite. The lyrics are so beautiful and genuine in every song. Sometimes I feel like musicians forget to look within themselves for inspiration, rather than recycling old beats and words to stay relevant |-/

I have a Tyler theory. He always looks so lost when someone else is talking, which got me thinking. He always looks sad and kind of scared when he's not talking. What if it's because when he's not talking, he's scared of getting lost in his mind, like in the Car Radio. So when he talks, he no longer is alone in his head, cause he's sharing what's in his head with other people, instead of being by himself. I have absolutely no idea if what I just said sounds dumb or even makes sense, but I needed to get that out there

Ditto. I'm recording to return to work in music, and I'm 52 now, this kid has the solid depth to songwriting like me, and I'm gonna hold tight, because if people relate to him, there's hope for my new music . Wrote in 70's-80's and a few in early 90's.

Tyler Talking about how he found himself and his purpose has saved me many times, I’m 14 and struggling to find any meaning in life. Twenty one pilots, is the best thing that has ever happened to me, I also love music and instruments, I play percussion, ukulele, and piano and music is what has kept me alive and most likely will continue too.

I'm not sure why, but any time I watch tøp interviews I always feel a strong connection with both of them. I just feel the need to look into their eyes, and especially Tyler's, because his eyes just give off this sense of understanding and attentiveness. It just makes me really happy.

Atomic Spaceman What he was saying about Brandon's hand in that video was EXACTLY how I felt when I watched that video the first time (and over and over). It's not just about the literal music, it's about the moments within them. The little things that make you recognize yourself for who you are...
@soumayao63979 жыл бұрын
gnarlish Yes! I've had those moments with Brandon a lot of times. There's a live performance here on KZbin of them singing "This River is Wild", and there's a part where he kind of like shakes when he sings "Sometimes I'm nervous when I talk I shake a little" and that part gets to me everytime. The musicvideo for Holding Onto You has a similar kind of feel, which is why it's my favorite music vid of TØP to this moment.
@gnarlish9 жыл бұрын
for me, "okay friend?" in Kitchen Sink always resonates with me very strongly, when I saw the Killers live a few years back "higher and higher we're going to make it" from Bling made me unexpectedly cry, and from Blurry Face so far I think it's "it would be to my brother, because we have the same nose, same clothes" from Stressed Out.

fantastic, parts 1 and 2. you feel the initial "here we go again" from tyler, but that fades quickly as tyler realizes this is much more than the drivel he must endure on most interviews. extremely educational and insightful.
