Bots into bkb is the standard build on lina these days. Followed by likely a deadalus or mkb. Sometimes you go the magic damage build with euls, kaya, ags etc but not usually. Also another benefit of cutting the wave with Axe (or LC) is that you force their carry to choose between dealing with you and farming so it's a win both ways. And when the support comes to try and deal with you along you can deal very well with that as you have all the creeps hitting you procing your E.
@rafaelmarkos44892 жыл бұрын
I think the bots->bkb->daedalues/mkb/silver edge build has been standard on Lina for a while now, probably since the TI10 qualifier times. Also, I feel the advantages of creep skipping really only make sense when you can also combine it with getting the nearby neutral camps, which is why you mostly do it with heroes that have good waveclear in the early game (sk, ds, axe, centaur, etc.). After all, if the carry chooses to farm, you want to get even more farm out of the deal to ensure that you're making an advantageous trade in all scenarios.
@kloaf11312 жыл бұрын

Daf having a League background does give a significant amount of context to his playstyle - it seems to focus on making his game work and seems to largely ignore shutting down the opponent. I feel Dota's biggest differentiating factor from League is the importance of creating a gold/exp difference between the teams and heroes at a micro level by the multiple mechanisms for denying farm to the opponent, as opposed to rushing to get to your timings first. Maybe Joe and Daf could try counting last hits/denies as a way of gauging success in the laning stage? Or is that a bit too tryhard?
@kloaf11312 жыл бұрын
tryhard should never be used in a game where it's pvp and the goal is winning. But thats my opinion. lh/denies isn't a terrible metric but it really depends on the lane and which one has more kill potential.

The phrase 'it’s just a game' is such a weak mindset. You are ok with what happened, losing, imperfection of a craft. When you stop getting angry after losing, you’ve lost twice. There’s always something to learn, and always room for improvement, never settle.
@rafaelmarkos44892 жыл бұрын
@@4F0xSake You know games can be played for entertainment, right? Granted, that seems to be League's territory, and the reason for its popularity... Dota is extremely focused on being competitive to the exclusion of all else. Your approach does fit in this context.

So I want to address some things as tips. You were right and wrong when they got those kills praising lewis and saying about the jugg farming. That early on especially a t1 4 on a t1 and the pos 1 farming is the right play. Also with jug a lot of the skill is proper omni and quick usage with bladeflurry. For example when jugg initiated with quick thats the right order cause it has massively more range Which is why it's used for initiation. Solo omniing the willow was questionable but not using the omni after the quick was right cause he could have jumped to the willow and been disjointed with shadow realm. But very good call that axe, sky and lich should be together at all times. 100% correct. I do agree in lower dota the love of getting the blinks second item is really weird. Not necessarily just bad but weird. Man rest of the game you guys did great. Sad to see them lose to a few bad chronos really.

11:00 Cutting creeps is good in a 2v2, because it forces the carry to go lh or miss creeps. The hard support at this point can get 1v2'd, and might have to give up stacking, de-warding, contesting pulls, or the bounty rune. For the carry, lh-ing creeps shouldn't be tricky (you can practice it, if you want) unless the enemy dominates 2v1 or no-one tp's on dives. Lewis was just doing it for some pocket money

I love these videos, and the editing is great for 90% of the time, but the zoom in to focus - out - the peripherals is really disorienting. Removing the map, the top row of heroes, and the abilities/hp/mana of the selected hero doesn't help me focus on what is happening or what the commentators are saying, it throws me out. I feel like the trick of making the commentator characters bigger is a fine way to shift the viewers focus if that's what the goal is, but removing context isn't helping I don't think. Love the videos, will continue to watch either way so hope it helps.
