I think this was the most exciting episode so far. Really good plays from both teams - it's true what Pyrion says; heralds can have really good technical ability but just make stupid decisions.

Thats actually not how maledict works Pyrion, it sets a marker internally when it is cast/deals damage and deals damage based on how much less hp you have from the last recorded amount on tick before its supposed to deal damage again. So, if you can get a tango and/or pop a wand, urn charge or salve between ticks you can actually take no damage. Alternatively if you use an urn/spirit-vessel charge on a maledicted target you can deal nearly 2500 damage and cancel out the possibility for healing through it. Also if you happen to orchid the target that damage value increases to approximately 3200 magical damage so long as the enemy cannot purge the debuffs... I may have run this build mid several times as a counter to PA and it always made me feel dirty afterwards. Probably not worth running it mid in higher ranks tho, proper mid heros offer so much more.

So Maledict just checks your current hp compared to your starting hp when you got the buff. It completely ignores if you took a lot of damage or just tread swapped. So any healing during the debuff will reduce the big chunks of damage by a *ton*.

18:22 that Maledict came very late in the fight. Slark got greedy and chased Earth Spirit and then even after he punches him out of the fight, Slark goes back to let Jugg spin on him. My guess, he didn't even realize he had maledict on himself. This is the kind of things I point to when I say, people over think meta, because they miss the small in visuals but large in value type of details. By this my guess a bunch of people go out and think, "all I do is maledict."

well the main reason why he took so much damage from maledic over all is because went he presses q (his spell that goes wooooshhhh to dispell) it hurts him quiet a bit it really boosted the damage done by maledic if he spams it

The conversation at 3 minutes is entirely valid by Lewis here. This does happen, some people are higher MMR with some heroes, and try other things and go lower. For example, wayyyyy back in 2011/2012 when I played LoL (yes I quit that for Dota), I went 28-0 with a hero there in a game because I was beyond everyone in that game... with that particular hero, but I likely went back to my average self after that back to playing support (I was Gold at the time), and oh fun fact I still lost that game because my team didn't have push capability, was fun though.

@@professorpwerrel Yes but it was often with that hero due to the amount of escape and catch they had, it was a character I was good at, the stats I stated was just the highest point. But if you put me on a role I didn't play, like jungle, or top, I was probably bronze trash and not my usual gold tier average as a support main who was better at mid. There's sort of a personal MMR you'd have with different heroes, positions, and game knowledge for mechanics and items, combining to give you your average MMR between that based on performance.

Just following a guide probably, most of them say to get a Vanguard first, but he eventually picked up the Shroud which is a good buy.
