Enjoyed the video...picked our AS up from Ronnie a couple of days ago. What an amazing job he did with our lithium/solar upgrade. He was able to get the complete install done in a week. My only regret is due to current conditions, I couldn’t stay to watch and even help a bit. Ronnie is a great communicator and really nice guy. The trailer was immaculate when I picked it up so big thanks for that. Thanks for your original video that allowed me to connect with Ronnie, I highly recommend getting this done and Ronnie is your guy. If anyone would like to discuss our experience, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Looks great. Amazing the simple renovations that you can do to vastly improve the look of your trailer. Chrome is an extraordinary product. Instead of botox, I may just go with the chrome package. Instead of a wrinkled old man I can become the shinny old man. Those rock guards would help me during my walks with a few of the neighborhood dogs who think I am a walking chew toy. Be safe out there guys.

Another excellent video! Great discussion on the Olympic rivet. Just glad you are not driving in outback Australia. My campertrailer has had its underside sandblasted by the gravel/sand roads we travel on. We generally find that the first windscreen to break is not the front but rather the rear windscreen of the tow vehicle. This collects the stones being deflected from whatever you are towing. Most RVers will protect this rear screen with a plastic cover. And finally your Airstream is looking much improved!
@Joe-cu4hi4 жыл бұрын
Sean, I recently replaced the chrome trim insert. The middle section we went with the factory trim for $250+ but I found in the auto parts store they had the Cowles Custom Chrome trim same sizes for middle and lower banana trim for $15 a pack which we needed 4 packs. We saved a ton! And it was about 90% similar side by side

Nice video Sean. You probably already know this, but just in case. The new rock guards on the front of your airstream are aluminum, and the old guards were stainless steel. Stainless steel is harder and less prone to denting than the softer aluminum. That will make it even more important that you get effective mudflaps for your truck (if you don’t already have mudflaps). Like I said, with your experience, you probably already know this and have effective solutions already in place. Keep the great videos coming!

Hello Sean and Kristy- Thank you for another excellent video! Our 25ft Flying Cloud is a 2011 and we have no need to get a newer one. We did the replacement 3M banding as you did, and upgraded to the Endurance tires ( supported by what you were familiar with issues on the older Goodyear Marathon trailer tires). We live less than 10 miles from one of the oldest Airstream dealers in the country (Woodland) and lived in Elk Grove Vlg. IL (home to ZipDee) for two years! Guess we were destined to have an Airstream. Honestly, while we always appreciate the quality of our AS, but YOU help us enjoy it with all of your videos - whatever the subject or location. @vindivergilio34824 жыл бұрын
I may be dumb, but what's the 10 year rule? Sounds like a way to keep older rigs out of their lots to make the place basically look better. We once hit a snag like that with our boat in an overnight marina but it was more of a safety thing than anything. No boats with inboards or built in fuel tanks over 15 yrs old due to any possible unseen fuel leaks that would cause vapor build up under the canopy @ each slip. Even though ours is actually a 1966 hull, when we rebuilt/restored it, it was a 90% refurb so technically, it is now considered and registered as a 2015. Anyway, Liv looks good, almost brand new. Thanks and see ya'all in the next one.

10yr rule is fairly common, and unfair, since some RVs age better and are better cared for than others. Some places will waive the rule if you email them a pic of your rig. Sad that campers would be put in a position where they might have to lie to stay the night. Regardless, your Airstream looked good before, and looks great now! Thus, your Airstream can be declared 2020 because of the stewardship care it has received. Keep on truckin down the road without opening the front door for the admission clerk.

Looks good! Unfortunately, the 10 year rule is due to many folks that will not take care of their rigs. Bad power cords, which in turn, will damage power outlets. RV's that are falling apart at the seams. Unsightly RV's, etc. Typically, the aluminum RV's don't fall into that category, but it's not based on the manufacturer. It's based a history of bad maintenance.
