Thanks for sharing. That trip looks like the dream! I had read carts were illegal on the portages in the Adirondacks so I never considered coming. Can I use a cart up there? There is no chance I could carry my canoe over rocky ground but dragging a canoe cart and paddling 15 to 30 miles days is very doable.

I have been canoeing in the ADKs for more than 40 years and never heard that. People use carts on the carries all the time.
