OMG! 25 Years ago I have watched on TV. Now, I found it! I am just crying! This Song has a special touch to soul. You Imagine walking in a forest, forgetting all your problems inside, opening your mind to relax, to connect with nature environment. The moment you realize you are one with universe. Thank you, Paul!

My favorite track from the Natural States collaboration. So much going on in this beautiful piece and so much juxtaposition - from the major to minor key changes, to the echoing calls of the piano, recorder and guitar, to the smooth lines and chords played by David and the gritty, yet perfectly distorted guitar wails from Paul. Yet despite its dichotomies, it also tells a story. This song perfectly captures what an epic hike through a vast, green National Park-like forest would be like (much like this video - but I envision this): Surrounded by tall, stately trees, you begin your hike as the morning sun rises into a cool blue sky from the east. As you trek through the lush, wandering trails filled with birds and wildlife of every sort that runs along a babbling brook, you take in the majestic views of rolling hills and deep valleys as you spy a lonely eagle soaring overhead. Cool mountain air fills your lungs as you brave rocky cliffs and clamber over ancient trees that have fallen across your path. By the end of the song, you end your hike at a breathtaking waterfall, high above a sheer granite cliff, watching as the sun slowly sets with spectacular, prism-like colors behind a distant horizon of purple, snow-capped mountains. I'm sure most would agree: this song is more than just a song - it's a journey; a journey that I've experienced over and over since 1985 with equal joy each time I hear it. Thank you, Mr Speer, for the brilliance that is "Faces of the Forest, Part II" - and for the endless journeys it will continue to inspire in the minds and hearts of all who hear it in the future.

I've loved your work since the 80's. This was my first New Age music, and it's always been my favorite both then and now. This entire album was amazing. I wore out the first cassette and had to buy a second. Then I bought the CD in the 90's and played it nonstop. I still have it today. Thank you! You've brought me so much calming energy over the years and relieved so much stress it's unbelievable. I love your new stuff just as much too. You're right up there with Tangerine Dream. You will always be the best to me, Mister Speer.

@@PaulSpeerMusic You're very welcome, and it's an honor that you replied. I've been playing your music to my 5 year old since birth and it's by far his favorite. Morning time, bath time, bedtime, playtime... Even when I'm sure of his answer ahead of time, I believe in giving him a choice and I ask what music he wants to hear, and he virtually *always* replies with "the waterfall music" which means anything from you. The exception is when he needs to blowout some energy, then he says "cyberpunk music" which is techno -lol. But 90% of the time it's you. You have a new generation that loves your stuff because he tells his friends (and teacher) about it. He even plays his little keyboards to imulate your music. "Look daddy, I can play the waterfall music". He loves all your work, especially your last album, as do my wife and I. It's easy to tell how it comes from your very core. Please never stop weaving your enchanting music, sir.

@@PaulSpeerMusic I just read our conversation to my son, Erik, and he said "Tell Paul Speer (he knows your name) that I love him and I love his music and I love him and thank you for music". That's an exact quote. EDIT: Ten minutes later he fell asleep to Oculus.

Paul, is it possible to re-issue both Natural States and Desert Visions with new hi-res videos?
@PaulSpeerMusic4 жыл бұрын
Ron - I wish it was but they were shot on 16mm film and transferred to 1" video tape. No one knows where those masters are and I fear destroyed. Even if I could get the 1" masters, I think they would still pale in comparison to today's hi def.

@@PaulSpeerMusic Paul thanks for replying back! Would it be possible to re-issue with new higher res video? I still can see these being huge sellers.

What I mean is brand spanking new videos of those same areas. A revisiting of sorts.
@PaulSpeerMusic4 жыл бұрын
@@ronhoughtonjr7108 They wouldn't be the same but it would be possible to shoot new footage at those locations. I doubt Nickman would want to take on a task like that but somebody else could. EMI owns the music publishing and Universal Music owns the recordings so licensing the music could get a little messy.
