Happy wonderful 2024 can you please tell us what type of antiseptic is used when doing the facial? Also practical do you have to put on acrylic nails on all five fingers when doing the manicuring portion? I am only knowledgeable for the cosmetology practical exam, but you do not need to polish or do acrylics! It could be different for the esthetics/nail tech test. The antiseptic is just a basic cleanser but since it's just a practical, you can use cholesterol.

@@HairByDesiree when you use a cleanser when you doing the facial part what type of cleanser do you use is it a cold cream or ponds that is not very greasy? When you do the nails with the cosmetology portion do you have to put acrylic overlay or a silk wrap? In the previous tests used to have to do acrylic overlays.?😉📰📺🙋🏻‍♀️🍀🌹🍀🥚🐇🥚

For state board, since it's just on a mannequin, you can use just water for toner and even chlorestorol for the cleanser and moisturizer! Just as long as the bottles are labeled appropriately!

Do you have to perform the 3 types of massage during the lotion portion? I am getting my recertification from 10 years ago. My license lapse. So much has changed

It's best to, but theyre not going to ask you to demonstrate them

At what point do you take the chemical cape off?

during the cleanup of color retouch. for the facial, you'd then use just a towel around the neck for draping

is this strictly for cosmetologists? I thought cos couldn't perform facials? I have my esti state board in June, so im just wondering if this would be accurate for me!

this is just the procedure for basic facial. it could be different for esthetics. cosmetologists can perform facials, waxing ect.

Some videos and people say there’s a mask portion for the facial. Do we not need to do a mask portion?

When I did state board practice in school we did a mask step and removed with a hot towel

the mask step is dubbed as the massage step for time purposes!
