Facile Vega is a great horse, but the last performance doesn't fill us with confidence that he is the festival banker. Last year I would have said for sure, Facile Vega and Honeysuckle both bankers - this year however I'm not so certain.

Sprinter Sacre not the best 2m chaser of all time? 😂 on his day no horse could live with sprinter sacre just a freak of nature, frightening to think what rating he could of got without his heart problems, but even with what he did got him 191p with timeform and even with everything he went through he still came back at 11 and won the champion chase over a prime UDS and then slaughtered him by 20 lengths in the celebration chase

@@georgemurray542 and if he falls or has an off day or wakes up lame or gets impeded then these trainers have wasted their chance of glory/money-making and wasted an opportunity to keep the racing industry alive. No horse wins every time. It's pure greed, what they can't see is as their decisions ruin racing the prize money gets reduced so it's counter productive not running the best against the best, they can only see their immediate pocket, well done Matt for calling them out on it.

National Hunt is different because they don't retire to stud and eventually they deterioate. But horses Like Big Bucks Flyingbolt, Bula, Sprinter Scare, Altior have run up sequences any horse would be proud of.

The reason his rating went so hign was to accomodate the type of racing in the 60's. None of those he beat would have wona Gold Cup bar Millhouse and he was never the same horse again after Arkle beat him by 5 lengths

The best 2 mile chaser of all time Badsworth Boy? What utter nonsense. There were 3 horses much better Dunkirk, Flyingbolt and Sprinter Sacre.....Dunkirk used to take off like a Bat out of Hell and then quicken up. Flyingbolt's best trip was 2m4f but won 13 chases over 2m. Sprinter Sacre was the best jumper of the 3 plus he had a weapon that set him above the others. 4 Fences from home he injected so much pace in a matter off strides nothing could live with him. Assuming we are talking normal good racing ground Sprinter is the best I have seen and I saw all 3.

British chances...Jon Bon ( not for me ) , anything in the Ultima , Epatante/ Marie's Rock in the Mare's Hurdle , Hermes Allen in the Ballymore ,Edwardstone/ Editeur De Gite in the Champ Chase , Camprond in the Coral , Shiskin in the Ryanair , Marie's Rock in the Stayers , Luccia in the Mare's Novices, Pembroke in the County , just off the top of my head are up there in the betting. I think Mullins will win less than last year , not due to the Brits but due to the emergence of other Irish trainers.
