Why did black check first instead of taking the bishop immediately!

I think white can survive because when check was given by rook so king should move on white square then when bishop takes pawn rook takes bishop oueen take rook then white turns move oueen to the square exact above the king.....

Pari Patel Black would not take the f2 pawn, but would instead play Qf3+ then white would be forced to play Kh2 to which black would reply Qg2#. Also the line you propose Kh8 Bxf2? Rxf2 Qxf2 Qh2 loses. Black could then play Qf3+ forcing white to play Qg2 blocking with their queen. Black would then finish with Qxg2# ending the game. The key move in both lines is Qf3+. Those queen checks are tricky😉
