I've written a scifi thriller novel and in the progress of writing a fantasy trilogy. I always feel like readers will get bored of it and 1 star bomb the novels. At times I feel like to avoid problems and angry people I should just publish or for free, but on the other half I've put lots of time in it and I don't want to put it up for free.
