Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

Sonny is a joke. You can’t be a professional food reviewer if you can’t respect vegan and plant based diets which he does not. He makes fun of salads and if a dish doesn’t have meat in it he doesn’t want it. That’s the dumbest most egotistical crap I’ve ever heard

Fun fact: The meat contains more than 20% protein, which is higher than in chicken, beef, lamb or pork. And with only about 8% fat, it is also leaner than most other common meats. It is also rich in Omega 3 fatty acids and Vitamin B, and as such is a healthier as well as cheaper alternative to other meats.
@HavokBWR

Oro has such a sweet innocence about him. It endears you to him and you get a glimpse of those childlike qualities that we all strive to get back to once we’ve been jaded by the hardships of life. I really like him as Sonny’s co-host. They have a great chemistry and they never fail to make me laugh. I also love that even though he’s mostly fluent in English, he still uses literal translations of some words and it just comes out funny in English…. 18:32 omg! 😂😂😂 As soon as Sonny said “long pig” I lost it. In high school I had a world cultures teacher that had spent time with a cannibalistic tribe and he told us that they called humans “long pigs”. And I loved Oro’s response of “makes sense”. No shock or horror, just acceptance and (again) that innocence of just accepting what Sonny says. Peru has been on my travel bucket list for thirty years, so I am thoroughly enjoying this series. I just wish the videos were longer. However, I wish that with all of the Best Ever Food Review Show videos… its my favorite show, hands down!!!

Wait, seriously? Wondering if sonny didnt make a joke and he actually know about that cannibal tribe, where is the "hidden series" he ate human meat? :D edit: ok, seems long pig is actuslly a well known term, never heard about that - good for sonny
@mari-greciaodal2436
@mari-greciaodal2436 Жыл бұрын
I'll tell you this: Though not a cannibal, I'll make this exception, It would greatly please me as well as satisfy me, to munch on a "long pig", whether it's a stranger, friend, or someone in my family, than eat what has been a good pet which was dear to me. let me say, that my loyalty is unconditional about this. and really, i'd eat with great pleasure a human being than i would an innocent animal. Humans have lost their innocence. animals have kept theirs. Sorry! No, not really!
@Djehuti-85
@Djehuti-85 Жыл бұрын
@@mari-greciaodal2436 I understand many value a human below an animal because of cruelties humans do/did. But eating a friend or a family member > eating an animal, not sure about that. And animals arent "good" as many think, e.g. dolphins rape others to death or apes kill others on purpose similar to humans killing each other.
@mari-greciaodal2436
@mari-greciaodal2436 Жыл бұрын
@@Djehuti-85 sorry. but i mean every word that i've said. far as the animal kingdom, of course, there are situations with animals which are the same as humans. except that animals don't create wars, thus destroying their own species. which humans do? and that's just one example of us being worse than animals could ever be. and so, yes i'd rather eat humans, any day. we, as human beings, deserve to be eaten. and that includes me!

I'm Peruvian from the jungle! and Peru is a world! I would never eat "cuy" or "guinea pig" but I respect the culture of my Peruvian brothers from the high mountains! the cuy or guinea pig is an endemic animal from the mountains of Peru that has always served as food! When the Spanish arrived in Peru and conquered the Inca Empire, they took the animal as a pet and that is why in many countries they have them as a pet and not for food! but its origins were always the same as chicken! hahaha this dish is NOT only eaten in Peru, guinea pigs are eaten in Colombia, Ecuador and Bolivia in all the mountainous areas once dominated by the Inca Empire.

Peruvians are technically Americans themselves as they are from South America… so I can see why the lady in the video said what she said as well. Anyone who hails from either of the Americas would be Americans. On the flip side… it was cool to see your comment about the Americano breakfast and how it got the name. I always enjoy reading the comments from people who’ve experienced what is in the videos that I watch. It’s good to get more than one person’s point of view… for a more rounded idea of the reality of the situation shown. So thanks for your comment and you have a wonderful day!! ✌🏻💕😊

Some years ago I bought cuy from a local South American food shop. It was frozen, and I never got to eat it because I was out of town for four days when we had a power failure. I am still hoping to try Cuy without having to go to Peru to do so. That first cuy recipe really looked good. I could try the deep fried one with a little less time in the oil.
