Henry is such a good addition. He’s an elite sports writer, alongside an elite ex player/manager, an outstanding ex owner , and Troy Deeney.

And Troy deeney, 😆 🤣 you gotta have the black quota these days, so they picked Troy out of it, as he is a young black man, ex footballer, ticks all the boxes 📦 🤣 😂😂😂

Deeney also managed for 27 minutes before making all of the mistakes he talks about not doing and getting sacked for under performance and offending everyone in the room. Now let's listen to Deeney talk about how to manage again.

Would love if Henry stays on as a regular. He’s very articulate and an engaging listen, agree or disagree. And obviously a top tier journalist with lots behind the curtain knowledge within the game.

He isn’t as clever as he sounds or you think. He said the Glazers were to blame for Ten Hag’s failings and Simon destroyed him. Just because he speaks posh does not equal intelligence. Simon always corrects him.

He gets a lot of hate but now there's 2 former footballers, captains. A former manager, owner and now a journalist giving all their opinions. I think it's a genius combination. It covers so much of how football works

At the time I was happy seeing them go down, but now I kind of miss long ball pub teams like Stoke, West Brom & Dyche's Burnley. They provided a different viewing experience (albeit agricultural) compared to Wengerball & Barca-lite clones.

Footballs biggest myth is “pressure” at man united. Media attention isn’t pressure.
@MrReeealist2 ай бұрын
I agree. There's less pressure on Man United manager than City, Bayern, Madrid, Barcelona. Man United fans would backed Ten Haag and he finished 8th, got kicked out of the UCL, and lost 7-0 Vs Liverpool

Simon it would be worth looking back at the first 11 Pep played when he came to city. It could be argued that Pep doesn't improve all the players under his stewardship but they are either at a very high level or they are replaced. This is why he always tend to go to clubs with very deep pockets. I should say I admire Pep, but think sometimes its a misnomer that he improves all in his squad.

It’s n interesting point Troy raises about work ethics amongst British and continental managers approach to the management of a football club but who would you want and how is that put into practice when there are ready made individuals for the needs of the club owners just across the pond. It then stifles the development of good british managers
@harrys15052 ай бұрын
Your argument is flawed. British managers should then turn themselves into ready made managers - as you say. But what did Lampard do when given a chance at the highest level? What did Gerrard do when given a chance at the highest level? What did Southgate do when given a chance at the highest level?
@shoji-josuzuki16412 ай бұрын
I think the issue is that there are too many British ex-players who played at the highest level, retire from football and almost have a belief that they deserve to be in charge of a big club because they have learnt so much and done so much for the game. The reality is they should be willing to start from the bottom or wherever they can find work, gain experience and build their reputation again The Premier League is the place where people want to manage, due to how popular it is and how much money is involved, other than being manager of a massive European club it's the place to be, so the number of people who want the jobs is higher than any other league in the world and British coaches are so desperate to be a part of it as soon as possible, that they don't look for opportunities in lower domestic leagues or even abroad. I have so much respect for the coaches who don't just wait around for jobs to come up and instead are going abroad or into lower leagues for work. The lack of British managers at top Premier League clubs is nothing new, but the managers who want to get there should be working around the world to make themselves more desirable

Souness was a great player, and has been a great pundit. Different class. Troy is a babe as a pundit. But the kind of babe you wouldn't want to take on in a pram to pram fight. As as a watcher of the game it makes no sense to me to play a sophisticated game when your players aren't sophisticated enough to play it. Man City can field eleven sophisticated players every game, Southampton cannot. I'm a Forest fan. God bless Steve Cooper, Nuno and our owner. We aren't arsed with "The way" to play the game. We utilise our fast players, our physical players and bank on our brightest minds on the field. OK. We are third now, but we probably won't finish better than tenth, despite clear development and progression at the club. But we are getting the very best out of our players. Something that Tony Pulis, Sean Dyce, Sam Allardyce and PEP GUARDIOLA have done.
