IMPORTANT: This test is just an example using one round of one brand/type of ammo in one pistol. So, it is NOT conclusive. We recommend you run your own tests using your pistol and ammo combo to know how it will do.
Today we are going to test a common internet notion that chambering [aka loading or cycling] the same round of ammunition in your pistol/handgun/rifle too many times can be dangerous. The notion goes to claim that the force of loading the round can cause the bullet to go deeper into the case as it slams against the feed ramp, which would reduce the cartridge Over-All Length [OAL]. This reduced OAL would increase chamber pressure. Lets find out if it’s actually true that rechambering the same round will reduce OAL by running some tests.
