One of the details about the Doom+Strange-v-Mephisto story I rather like that was omitted here is that Doom first arranged to fight Strange in a ritual combat that allowed him to demand a boon of Strange afterward. Doom then demanded that Strange help him fight Mephisto as his boon, and Strange was like "why didn't you just ask? Mephisto's a dick and you're doing something good, I would have helped you without needing any of this." And Doom responded basically "Doom does not *ask* for help. Doom only *demands* help."

My favourite Doom moment is in one of the Marvel Zombies run. There is this worm or something which is going to grow and destroy the world, the Fantastic 4 are trying to stop it and get a plan for someone to take it to one of the zombie dimensions. But who ever does it can't come back. It's a suicide move. They are debating about who should do it when Doom announces that he will carry the monster. Why? Well as he tells Reed it's so that Reed will live, knowing that Doom did something he could not. That Reed is alive only because of Doom. That level of pettiness is just so amazing I love it. 'Yeah imma do a suicide run all so that I can finally prove to Reed Richards that im better than him.' I love that so much.

The worm is drawn to power and it everybody thinks it's gonna fly to Thor for the new host and it goes straight past him and goes for Doom (which was reed at this time) then he did the switch to be the hero

I liked one of the Damage Control issue where Dr. Doom's repair bill was being sent to collections, and they were figuring out how they could stand up to him and what heroes would take such a mission... only to have Doom himself stroll in and actually *apologize*, and pay the balance, as it was a rare oversight on his part. And before someone cries about it being uncharacteristically humble, it was because Dr. Doom refused to be in a position where it could possibly be thought that he was a deadbeat, so he personally flew in from Latveria to their office in NYC to pay the bill in person.

I've always liked God King Doom. Basically anything with him is amazing, especially when he Sub Zero's Thanos by ripping his spine out. And his cold line afterwards, "He attempted a psychological gambit, he failed, he died." Or when he was trapped in Hell and tortured for a thousand years or something and refused to make a sound so they wouldn't get the satisfaction. Or any scene with him and Captain America, how when Cap asks for his help, he would help and not make a performance out of it. Gotta love the ruler of Latveria.

I think my favorite thing surrounding Dr. Doom is that in the facebook game Avengers Alliance, he's a recruitable character... but no one wants to fight with him, so your player character is the only other person who can be in combat should you choose to field Doom. And Doom doesn't give a shit about it, to him you're just there to keep an eye on him and that's all.

How Doctor Doom gets introduced in the MCU: Flashback to end of Black Panther 1 where Wakanda offers to help the world and people ask what a small African country can offer the world Fade to 'present' where a reporter is going over what Wakanda aid has provided and calls Wakanda "The most technologically advanced country in the world" Zoom out to Dr Doom doing paperwork in the foreground as the news plays on a TV in the background and Dr Doom looks up "The F&#*( did they just say?!?" Zoom out even more to pan through Latveria being a utopia.

I think it’d be funny if MCU’s Doom origin story is that he was the benevolent super scientist dictator of Latveria who had no ambitions except to rule his country, but then he happened to be one of the people who got snapped. On his return, Latveria is in shambles and Doom has his “WHO DARES!?!” moment. But when they do the flashback to the moment where he gets snapped back, it turns out he was already masked and armored, no explanation given.

Yeah… he would a be a good one… if he wasn’t willing to follow the mantra, “the ends justifies the means.” He is willing to murder, torture, sacrifice… every evil thing under the sun to get his goals. His main issue is that he holds grudges and he only does things to prove others wrong. He has an ego so big even the Hulk can’t lift it, but he himself CAN. So he usually does things to spite the heroes. They agree he is competent, but he is willing to allow his hatred for Reed Richards and anyone else that has ever stood against him to control him. Many theorize that his Utopia is being maintained as a way to tell the heroes, “you are the reason Earth isn’t like this”. He even cured The Thing once… and then uncured him to spite Reed. So… tldr: he has great potential to be a really good leader and person. His own personality and (albeit well deserved) ego as well as his penchant to betray, sacrifice and hate causes him to never be a good guy.

Agreed. I feel like the best thing to do would be to introduce him outside of the fantastic four. They've got him so wrong for so long that you have to dedicate time to unteaching the audience everything they "know" about doom and then build him back up. And you can't do that while you're doing the same thing to an entire team of heroes. Based on wakanda forever, I could imagine him trying to get something from namors homeland and starting a war between latveria and an alliance between wakanda and talokan. I could also see the thunderbolts being sent, and if he ever sets foot in new York strange would probably try and question him too since he did the same thing to thor and loki in ragnarok. The mcu is dense enough now I feel like he could piss off a bunch of people just trying to get what's needed to rescue his mom.

The MCU already missed its best opportunity to introduce Doom and Latveria, and they could have done it in passing. After Age of Ultron, when Sokovia is in shambles, Latveria should have been a neighboring nation that becomes ravaged with crime as refugees from Sokovia flee to Latveria and put a massive strain on their resources. And then Doom takes over and turns the nation into a utopia easily capable of handling the refugee crisis. Or, after the snap, Latveria is in complete shambles until Doom takes over and they recover faster than any other nation. Either of these could have been mentioned during a news broadcast in the background of another MCU film.

Even better: makes Latveria be Sokovia. Like, after Dr. Doom reaches power he changes the name of the country and turns it into one of the most powerful nations of the world. I can see the line of some hero calling the country "Sokovia" and Doom responding: "Sokovia was the country you destroyed. Latveria is the country I builded from the debris you left behind"

Doom deserves his own movie. He’s been done dirty in his past films, so a movie casting him as an anti-hero/anti-villain, exploring his motivations, and with a touch of “unreliable narrator” thrown in would be great. Maybe with Mephisto as the primary antagonist throughout, and ending with him freeing his mother by getting her to denounce him?

15:42 This would be a good joke, but Doom demands respect. He could just show up in a movie, but he needs his own film after the fact and have it played mostly straight. Just have his introduction be Falcon/cap, along with Bucky killing off terrorists trying to assassinate a politician in a “the beast” style car. Whenever the car pulls up to the event, Doom steps out of the car and blasts the last assassin before continuing to the event like nothing happened , then cuts to whatever the next Avengers movie will be about. I think it'd be even funnier if doom walks through the door without opening it or even in the middle of it being opened. Not strictly being a dick by ignoring the door, just whether or not someone's opened it. Everywhere he goes people just get surprised because he doesn't wait for doors to open. It'd also be hilarious if the doorman opens it after he enters with full decorum even though doom is already inside the room. We just see the doorman go through the whole process for seemingly no reason, salutes and announces doom, then closes the door.

One of my favorite things about recent marvel comics is that it's revealed that Mephisto is going to invade earth in the future and trample most if not all of its heroes, save for one: Spider-girl May Parker And Dr. Strange, who is seeing this vision, sees Mayday just swinging through Mephisto's army with nothing but a damaged suit and a determined look in her eye that only a Parker can. Which means that Mephisto is scared that the unborn baby of MJ and Peter is going to kick his ass, which seems so funny to me

With his eventual introduction to the mcu. I'd like it if Doctor Doom was always there, or at worst just taken control of Latveria. He could of gained control during the missing five years. We don't see his origin story,. Maybe the odd mention of Latveria and its metal dressed leader, or maybe a name drop. Then when the Fantastic Four come into the scene, his hatred for Reed Richards is the catalyst for him coming out of the shadows.

I think there’s some fan theories that he wasn’t actually that badly scarred by the accident and it was his ego that made him put on the suit, but because he was so impatient he put the mask on while it was still white hot, thus permanently messing up his face (not that it matters as he never takes it off anyway). Rather than have him cameo in the UN, have him in the G20 summit (or G22 in the MCU - our G20 plus Wakanda and Latvaria); just imagine the standard photoshoot of all the leaders with Doom just standing in the middle, arms crossed and looking like a boss. 😂 One other way they could get Doom into the MCU without having to delve into his backstory is have the next Doctor Strange film be about fighting Mephisto, and Strange has to go and ask Doom to borrow his hell portal machine to get to Hell. And that could set the groundwork for a Doom movie with him calling in a favour from Strange for the lending of the portal machine.

See I can see Strange using the portal to hell, but more like using it without permission. Its a trope that heroes are always breaking into his castle to use his stuff, particularly his time travel machine if I recall. Its such a trope that once Squirrel Girl came by to do just that, and being that it is Squirrel Girl, Doom saved himself the aggravation and let her use it free of charge. She is the only hero I know Doctor Doom really doesnt like fighting.
