One thing that many love about Doom is... He's essentially a member of the Fantastic Four family through his goddaughter, Valeria Richards. Her history is a bit complicated, so i'll keep it short, when Susan was pregnant with her, she was having complications like with her first pregnancy with Franklin, do to the cosmic radiation that gave them their powers. So Reed had a world saving mission to solve, he couldn't get to Susan, so Johnny turned to Doom, and he used his science and magic to save both Susan and the newborn, by delivering the baby! Now since Reed was indebted to Doom, he asked for a few things: He name her, and he becomes her Godfather just to rub it in Reed's face lol Also, every time he interacts with the now teen-aged Valeria, he treats her as his own favorite, spoiled child, and it's great! lol

My favorite fact about Dr Doom is sometimes when someone decides to destroy the earth Doom helps out the heroes. Because he can't rule the Earth if it's a pile of rubble. Also I'm always amazed at how a genius like Reed never can articulate what The Thing's real problem is: his power doesn't have an off switch. Reed's always talking about turning Ben back to human for good. But it's just a "can't turn it off" problem. Imagine if it was the Human Torch who couldn't turn his power off? Just stuck on fire permanently, unable to love a woman or work on a hot rod. Or if Reed always was stretched out and floppy, and couldn't pull himself together enough to look normal? Or if invisible woman was simply invisible at all times? Ben doesn't need to be turned human, he just needs to be able to turn it off or back on again at the drop of a hat.

Iirc Ben has been cured and/or given control of his powers before like that, but writers and editors never want the characters to change for very long so it's always reverted back, currently with him actually preferring to live like that. I could be wrong but I believe in at least one story it was Doom who did it, too. Funny enough, more recently Doom made it so Johnny's fire WAS on 24/7, and at uncontrollable levels, out of spite for something he did(someone, actually lol). Reed keeps promising to help him and find a way to turn it off but is basically to busy to bother. Eventually the writers ran out of time to wrap their shit up and it was hurriedly fixed off "screen" by an alien race that they knew(they knew more cosmic science than him, it's a whole thing). This was all in the most recent(but not current) run of FF, and fixed right near the end. Like Doom did it in, I wanna say, #35 and Johnny was fixed MONTHS later(our time) in like #46.

There's a HUGE character evolution bomb waiting to go off on Captain America. Something many people either don't know or don't think about regarding his power set is that the super-soldier serum didn't just make Steve faster and stronger. It also enhanced his brain to the point that it's essentially an organic supercomputer. He has a photographic memory and the ability to think hundreds of times faster than a normal human. This is the secret to why his shield always returns to him after he throws it. In the moment he throws his shield, he performs dozens of complex calculations to determine how to throw it (angle, spin, speed, etc.) to get it to bounce off of everything in the room (including moving objects) and return to his hand at the end. So, how does this make a character evolution bomb? Well, with Steve's brainpower, he could literally walk into a physics library and learn EVERYTHING in an afternoon if he wanted to. Give him a week to study all the latest trends in science and engineering and he would have Tony Stark level skills. Give him two weeks and access to a few advanced alien artifacts (which he DOES have access to) and he'll be the galaxy's most advanced engineer. ALSO, as we learn from reading Dr. Strange, magic isn't necessarily an inborn ability. It can be LEARNED as a skill. Give Steve access to the Sanctum Sanctorum and a couple of weeks studying under Dr. Strange, and Steve will be the new Sorcerer Supreme! Now we're talking about a person with Super Soldier stats with gear BEYOND Stark Tech and wielding BEYOND Dr. Strange levels of magical power. He would be the good-guy equivalent of Dr. Doom, but so much more powerful than Doom that Doom would look like a lad playing with his first magic trick kit. He would be a Universal Threat level character on par with the Celestials and the Cosmic Beings.

Now I'm imagining a story about a violin teacher being kidnapped by Dr Doom to tutor him. It ends with the teacher at the end of their rope snapping, standing up to Doom and telling him he's got no talent for the instrument. The Beyonder is unrelated to The Beyonders. It's just a naming coincidence. The Beyonder was a immature cosmic cube according to the retcon. Before the retcon he was just a universe 1 million times more powerful than the marvel universe. On the other hand The Beyonders are called that because they come from outside the universe ("beyond"). They're the lifeforms that inhabit the next level up from "the entire universe". Supposedly they're more powerful than the cosmic cubes, although they can't just wipe the multiverse away with a sweep of a hand. They had to manually plant "bombs" (Molecule Man, every alternate reality version of him collectively) to destroy the multiverse. That gave Dr Doom time enough to make his own Molecule Man clones and challenge The Beyonders with a weapon that could actually kill them. But he killed them a second too late and the multiverse was destroyed, leaving Doom to create one last planet out of the few shards of realities he was able to find in the aftermath (every country is from a different famous alternate reality).

Nicely done guys. Just an update on that Deadpool Rivalry: The last time Deadpool actually beat him in a fight was in 2007. They've fought in 2010 (BattleScars) 2017 (Deadpool vs Punisher) and in 2018 (Despicable Deadpool) and Deadpool lost each time. in 2017, the comics even addressed the whole - too random, too unpredictable thing, all Taskmaster did was ignore it, and he proceeded to wipe Deadpool into the floor.

My Fav doom moment is when on a literal space big rig Doom, Spider-man, Wolverine and Hulk are all together. Spider-man calls shotgun, Doom challenges this on the grounds that as the only leader of a sovereign nation aboard the ship HE should get the coveted position of "shotgun". Hulk then demands that hulk get shotgun to which doom, looking him over silently for one panel replies "Doom will allow this breach of protocol"
