Ghost inserters on the right-bottom green circuit assembler. Also check green circuit line on the bus in places where red circuits branches off the bug: you cut it in the previous episode so green line is only supplied by one of the lines - not visible for now, but will become a problem once the demand grow in the part of our base near red circuits assemblers.

When you copy an installation both real and ghosts are counted, so that will not tell you if a ghost is not placed. Upper Iron smelter column (the last one you built), #3 counting from upper left, coal/ore inserter. If you want to find it, look for the one not moving. Great content, keep it up :)

Im experimenting with using 60 miners on a patch, making red belts and steel furnaces for 1 furnace stack, and getting a fully saturated red belt of resources. With a red splitter -> 2 yellow belts, you can turn it into 2 yellow belts at rhe destination (at a main bus, hopefully) and you save the space of 1 furnace stack with that method. Weaving 1 belt to the main bus from the furnace stack is also a lot easier than weaving 2 belts

31:09 top left third furnace bottom inserter is the one turned around and or a ghost inserter i think ? It was a flaw in the blueprint and you fixed some but forgot some as well. In other words, just fix the blueprint once, it's extra easy now !
@firstname4097 Жыл бұрын
Im pretty sure filling a yellow belt with red would take like 90 assemblers working at a speed of 1, and even more with .75 crafting speed (there's a ton of components also crafted at a speed of .75, which would increase the crafting time of the finished product by a lot, so you'd need a lot more blue assemblers than 90, not to mention the fact that they'd all need plastic)

If you have that kind of time, you could easily put way more content into one episode! As a new player I found the progress here too slow so taking everything I learned from here, I experimented and built large scale of everything forward and probably jumped ahead couple of episodes. I'm now at advanced oil refining(very tedious) and robotics and utility science and the only thing that's bottlenecking my progress is optimal placements of different factories. And I just have no clue if stuff like batteries and blue circuits should be on the main bus or not, I ran out of space on the main bus lane. Maybe I should expand the size of my main bus to 1.5 city blocks. Hmm
@okuno544 жыл бұрын
I definitely put blue circuits on the bus; in fact, I tend to think of the circuit builds as more of a smelting-array-type-thing. Batteries are more of an edge case for me: they're really only used on accumulators and robot frames (incl. yellow science), but those are places where I'd be ok with manufacturing them on-site. As with all engineering, there are no right answers, only tradeoffs. A thinner bus means less storage on belt (less waste, and less buffer), but it also means more things have to branch off into local manufacturing which requires careful design to remain expandable. Both are viable and fun options.

Nilaus has a video for best map settings on his Masterclass (it's like Apple’s "There is an app for that", but for Nilaus it is "There is a video for that"). kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJrdkJeMrtSom5o If you want to get some experience, just turn the biters peaceful. Alternatively, crank up the starting size to give yourself a lot more time to get started before the pollution triggers the biters.

What do you think about building out a substantial yellow belt main bus, then skipping red and going up to express from yellow? I have been doing this in my last few games and it turned out really well, and I overbuild the yellow smelting setups so that they output more once upgraded to blue. I usually wait until I have Power Armor and robots so they can do the upgrading of course.
@comet.x4 жыл бұрын
I learnt from another stream thar if you want to do that, it may be a good idea to make the yellow belt bus conveyors three wide instead of four. That way, as soon as you upgrade to blue belts, you can fill in every other gap between the bus belts, allowing the blue belts to use their full underground jump distance of 8 tiles.
@FirstLast-gk6lg4 жыл бұрын
@@comet.x ah that is a good idea i might incorporate that. I made it 4 wide by habit and so have x6 outputs of lets say iron, each built enough to compress a red belt, then join the 6 down to 4 to compress 4 blue belts.

why there are 8 boxes at the and of smelters? how does work?
@nacaicon15933 жыл бұрын
He explained them when he placed them in a previous episode (#8 around 7:30). Basically, they serve as a balancer and buffer cache. For balancing, they ensure the top and bottom of the outbound belt are even- in the event for some reason the bottom belt (for example) gets backed up that would normally back up the furnaces as well, and eventually cause them to stop producing. With these if that did happen, the top inserters would simply work double-time, balancing the outbound belt.
