Factorio 2 0: Space Age - SCRAP Enhanced

This video is a continuation of my “Scrap” Mechanic deep-dive from Fulgora, one of the new planets. I improve my previous train design, test it, then improve it again!
The Factorio 2.0: Space Age Expansion keeps familiar Recipes and Items; yet adds new mechanics which will still turn the existing solutions and blueprints on their head.

They are buffing smaller dual headed trains. You can use elevated rails to have same side entry exit, but on a separate level, so exiting trains no longer block incoming trains to other stations. You can get massive throughput without even needing a station with a U-turn. I'm pretty sure it will be extremely elegant and compact if you just use same-side entry exit 1-1-1 trains, with elevated rails dealing with train exits off the island entirely. It takes extra long to fill those 4 carriages with just the 2 inserters anyway. It seems like its time to turn to the dark side of dual headed trains.

True. For this demo, 1:4 was personal preference only (and a triend and tested blueprint). Doubleheaded trains though? That is a power that some may consider... unnatural

The train station design with circuit-controlled buffers is quite elegant. I likely won’t engineer it to that degree for my first few buildouts, but might steal some notes if Fulgora ends up producing a majority of all blue circuits or modules.

Glad you like it, and yeah I think this will be the location of the big, late game -> post game Quality mall, which will be unmanageable without some sort of balancing circuitry

Thanks, probably because most of the time the goal is to load as quickly as possible. If loading time isnt a concern, theres a whole tonne of different things you can do
