First off, I think I'm probably late with this in your timezone, but... happy birthday, mate! 24:17/24:29 - ok, someone please make the flame sprinklers mod already. 😂 Don't forget the little metal clips to limit the angle range. ;) 26:20 - JD gets smarts! 🥳 28:56 - yup, up to 4 icons for what's in the filter list in a (purple) filter inserter.

Min range is to keep the turrets safe. It's similar with flamethrower turrets. From what I understand, rocket turrets have 360 degree targetting, which can be dangerous with explosive rockets and nukes. Nukes have a range modifier of 1.5x, not 2x, so 54 by default or 81 at legendary turret. That said, a turret firing to the side can still blow up your defences, since it has 360 targeting. Important to note that nukes target a position rather than an entity, so they shouldn't follow a target toward our defenses. We saw in FFF-406 that we can get sulfur in space from an advanced crushing recipe. Also carbon + water + sulfur = coal, which is also needed. Also interesting, we saw walls on the platform. We know that asteroids first damage the buildings and then the floor, so this can be useful as a damage buffer. Devs said in discord that it's the spidertron, rather than the rocket turret, that has the fish in the recipe. On places other than Nauvis, power is much more expensive so lasers may not be that viable. Also lasers are weak against bigger asteroids.

back in your 406fff, you can see the set of crushers feeding a belt with carbon and sulfur on it, and they are its only feeds even though we dont see them add either resource.

8:55 I assume it just shows all the filters plus one empty slot; filling the empty slot will add another, and clearing a filter will remove a slot.

i can see using the ammo to micro the ammo coming out of the buffer to prisoties turrets that shoot more

Guessing there's gonna be a shielding unit that gives enemies nearby shields. So its more efficent to attack that one first and everything else second.

also did you notice that the laser beams were partially splitting? one laser was shooting multiple targets...

I don't fancy deleting the green circuit from the rocket. It doesn't make sense. A rocket is a propellant, a container for said propellant and something to GUIDE the thing. It really needs a green circuit. Maybe it would be better to have the output doubled or something, more rockets per build (green circuit).

Woo, more stuff to shoot biters with! I just hope devs address friendly fire issues - imagine rockets in the biter clip were explosive, your own defences would do more damage than actual biters. Not being able to use splash ammo with these sounds sad.

My biter guesses: Nauvis will be vanilla biters Vulcanis will be fire breathing spitters Fulgora will be flying electric biters Aquillo is swimming biters And the last one will be Bile Titan sized biters that act as mobile spawners

Rocket turrets would devastate your wall if they were to have 360 degrees targeting. Trust me, I've tried this in vanilla allready with rocket turrets aka stationairy spiders within logisic network requesting 100 ammo. Instead they should have 90 degree or so like flame turrets. In wich case I would prefer the flame turrets unless there will ibe flying enemies that are resistant to direct fire from flame turrets. Then rocket turrets would indeed make more sense.
