340lph pump seems like overkill. Check for a voltage drop while the car is running. Also the return line hanging like that is probably causing aeration around the fuel pump pick up.

Voltage drop was my thought right away but that’s not the case. Pump may be overkill but the fuel pressure is regulated. Changed everything out just to be sure. I just found a tuner with a Dyno real close to me so I think it’s time to get some professional help, besides I wanted to dyno it after 1000 miles . The Sniper system is relatively simple but not simple enough for me I guess.

He's my view from watching your videos. Due to your cracked headers etc your efi has been running rich due to high oxygen content in your exh. The holley is adding fuel. This extra fuel has washed out your o2 sensor. I bet your plugs are black? Re fuel pressure did you fix that? Lack of fuel makes it lean. Don't trust that fuel gauge either, they're not reliable.

@@clarkson427 exactly my thoughts so changed the plugs already, fixed the fuel issue & pipes & the potential exhaust leak I may have had and waiting on the 02

No problem, I appreciate your videos, keep up with the good work. Few other things I forgot to mention. 1, can you set your fuel table on idle to run 14.2afr at idle and then run/set open loop? Performance camshaft and o2 sensors don't work will together on idle due to the overlap of the cam. This alone will cause a high oxygen content on idle, so you think it's lean and it's actually rich. Always go by you sparkplug colour. I just don't believe the self tuning esp on a performance engine. I think I've posted up some videos of mine getting mapped on the hub dyno.

Great troubleshooting and information video Dan. I'm on the fence about FI, I want it, but what brand and do I want to deal with these issues? I've been following a few builds, some OEM FI, Holley Sniper, carbureted... I want a bit of a lumpy idle but streetable, not worried about horsepower, any will be enough. I took a stab at the Holley Pro-jection back in the 90's and failed miserably. It was an open loop system, and I could not get it to idle well, or get off the line. After a year of messing, I threw a trusty Holley 4bbl on it and never looked back. Gleaning all i can from guys like you in these builds, keep up the great work!

@@markhoward3851 thanks & thanks for watching. I was going to go with the Edelbrock EFI system but at the last hour decided to go with the set up that looked more period correct with the Holley Sniper Stealth. I will say that if you have a new engine and your building your car as long as you have Fuel, air/exhaust & trimming right in my experience now…Holley Sniper system is great. Their customer service is second to none. They would not let me go till we figured my issue out, they were relentless. As far as the lumpy idol just choose a lil more of a radical cam and the sniper system will start up with it & you can fine tune it or call tech support 8am-430pm M-Friday & they will walk you through it. Whatever you choose let me know how it goes, post some videos 😃👍
