Factory Car Stereo Removal 2006 Chevrolet Equinox

The removal of a factory radio on a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox. I searched and did not find video for the Equinox so I have decided to make one. I will be adding an installation video of a Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD once I get all of the parts I need for the installation.

asked my mechanic about the driveshaft.... he looked at me like i was crazy and said it was under the suv. who knew?

Maybe you can answer i random question. Are the compartments with the rack slots in the trunk hollow? I want to build sib boxes to insert in the sides of my trunk. Do you follow? Any repliies would be helpful. I miggt take my trunk apart this weekend to solve the mystery.

I noticed my radio has an Aux button on the front of the radio. Did you notice any Aux cable input on the back of the radio for a quick connect option if I wanted to run some cables out for additional devices such as phones, Ipods etc..?

For my 2006 Chevrolet Equniox, I purchased the Metra GMOS-08 harness for my radio. Go to the Metra Electronics website and put in the type of vehicle and whether it came with a factory amplifier and subwoofer or not and they will list everything you need for that particular vehicle. I bought the GMOS-08 harness from Ebay. I should be receiving it tomorrow. Stay tuned for my next video which I will be installing the actual radio.

If you need help figuring out how to hard wire this because you don't feel like paying $150 or whatever for a harness, message me and I'll give you a run down of how to easily(well kind of) and correctly wire the new head unit and by-pass the stock amp when replacing the stock head unit. The large plug to the amp controls the door speakers and the small plug(6 wires I think) controls the Sub. The factory plugs have the input on one side of the plug and the output on the other.

@jcquigley20 Just go to the back of your Equniox and check to see if you have a subwoofer. It should be on the passenger side panel all the way in the back. 8" sub.
