Over 5 years later, and this video is still helping folks get repairs done. I can't thank you enough for posting this detailed replacement video. I had to go over to my parents today, to replace my Dad's '08 Torrent rear window regulator assembly. Thanks to this vid, I knew exactly what to bring along (including my T-30 bit and my drill). I would have never expected to have to drill out rivets, as my '06 Grand Prix didn't use rivets when I replaced those regulators recently. Everything went quite smoothly, thanks to the preparation you gave me. I was concerned that there would be significant differences between the Front and Rear driver's doors, but the only extra step I had to take was to remove a T-30 screw holding the door handle assembly in place, slide it over just a bit, pop the two wire rods out of their plastic guide holders and let it drop down a bit, so I could access the smooth-faced rivet, which was hiding behind rods going to the door latch (they come straight out from the handle on the rear door assembly). Didn't have a punch, so tapped the smooth rivet a few times with a Phillips head screwdriver to make a tiny divot, and drilled through the head easier than I expected with a 1/4" bit. Only snag I ran into (my fault)...when trying to replace the motor, I couldn't seem to get it seated correctly. Took me a couple of minutes to realize I forgot to remove the tie-wrap off the transmission wheel, before mounting the regulator and clipping it in place. (DOH!) Luckily, I was able to reach inside the transmission hole with a knife, carefully cut the tie-wrap and pull it out, without having to unsnap the transmission or unbolt the regulator. The motor slid right into place after that, and everything worked great after I was done. Sorry for the long comment. But thanks for making me look like a hero and saving my Dad some $$. He paid over $200 to a dealer to fix his front window several years ago.

Great video followed it step by step and window works (2009 Equinox). Interestly, the regulator I replaced was not factory issue so no drilling. Part from 1AAuto was perfect fit. Just because replaced motor also. Much easier to do than I thought it would be total labor time probably less than one hour. Thanks.

Very good video. Just what I needed. I had an autoglass place replace my 09 Torrent motor and said the clips did not line up with the new part. Hard to find (drivers' side window) original parts. Everyone had the same replacement part. No OE at junk yard so far.

Thank you so much for this video! This saved me a bunch of time and money today. The only snag I ran into is that the cable was tied up around the clutch and I had to remove the entire panel to bang the motor out with a hammer. Other than that, it went flawless.

I did this replacement but my window doesn't seem to line up correctly and stops midway while rolling up, is there a broke rail or something to either side that I need to fix?

My motor for passenger front door went out. Is there an 1a auto video on replacing just the motor? There was no popping noise at all. Just stopped working one day. Won't go down at all or make any noise like it's trying to go down. I checked all the wiring and it's good.

It looks like the power window motor is not serviceable on this vehicle, you would need to replace the whole window regulator. We carry new ones on our website with free shipping.

This was very helpful so thank you! I changed the rear driver side so maybe it’s a little different? I did not use the 1/2” drill bit. It only required the 1/4” 1/2” would’ve been too big. Maybe I got a closer matching regulator to the original?? Anyway just thought I’d share. Thanks again!

If I understand you and this is the clip you push to release the window and it is broke off like my grandsons was-we just now finished fixing this problem by using some large zip ties going through that hole for the clip from the backside and down to the back and back through one of the side holes towards the door skin side, tightening up the zip tie and then cutting off with diagonal cutters about an inch from the zip tie grip. We actually put three in while we were there just to make sure. It works great now! Maybe GM should have done this during assembly-beats their clip that breaks off! I know you did asked this 6 years ago-but maybe someone else might need this.

So my driver side window power button don't work then handle loosen won't open door so if power window button not working is it the switch or regulator how you test witch one needs replaced.

I can’t get my hatch (‘08Torrent) to open at all. When I got it, I didn’t realize it was defective and it only worked some of the time. Now it doesn’t work at all. My automatic locks don’t work properly either. Suggestions please???

Wow I'm just going to fix door handle. driver window broke know passenger window going badly time trade it in and buy Toyota or Nissan sadly you would think doors would be last thing that breaks.
