@@mduvigneaud even if it goes back to forest, its a tree down... they should hop on to leaves... its much more renewal source and its quicker to get compost... we Indians, used weave leaves to make plates since 500BC... but some german company stole the idea and patterned it under his company...

This seems to be missing the step where the thinly planed wood is laminated into the hard board material used to make the plates.

They definitely add a plastic layer between two layers of wood (they just want to hide it). It explains how good plates hold shape. You can see also straws made with two strips, one wood and one something else.

строгать тонкий шпон можно из любого дерева. или про фанеру не слышал? а вот картон - это ещё плюс достаточно энергоёмкое производство. там древесные опилки разной фракции варят не один час + достаточно грязненькая химия.

Из нее чашка прослужит 30 лет, потом ее переплавят опять в нержавеющую посуду. В ролике видно, что в производстве используется не какая нибудь малоценная осина, а высококачественная древесина - сосна. Переводить сосну в мусор не самое умное занятие.

Высококачественная древесина сосна? 🤦‍♂ Для таких целей используется дерево поплотнее и потверже сосны, обычно лиственных пород. Да, явно не осина. Но дерево - природный возобновляемый источник. И биоразлагаемый материал. Самое экологичное, что вообще можно придумать. Чистая древесина, как, например, эта посуда, выброшенная на свалку, по умолчанию не является мусором. Она в природе, без вмешательства человека проходит точно такой же цикл.
