They call it "ASMR" (or "autonomous sensory meridian response") and then there's entire genre of "ASMR videos" on YT. But yes, in this video the author did make a great job of recording all the sounds - the "bubbly" sound of poured molten paraffin, the clank and jingle-jangle of candles striking each other, and all that.

This video reminds me of the time "long ago" when I, an adolescent kid back then, tried my skills at making candles... Watching this I could almost smell the the aroma of molten paraffin coming off of the screen ;-) I actually managed to get quite decent results considering the "equipment" that was at my disposal, and accidentally developed a new decorative technique (so to speak) - one day I decided to put a freshly cast and barely set candle about 6 cm in diameter (just under 2.5") into a freezer to speed up the cooling process - which did work, but due to deep and rapid cooling the paraffin cracked. The candle held together OK, just like a regular non-cracked one, but the cracks produced an intricate and interesting optical pattern in semi-transparent/ translucent whitish paraffin. ...but I digress here, and the reason I decided to comment is that rather funny CC line at 10:20, reading: *_Buddhism, Roman Catholic, Christian etc_* At first it looks like "Roman Catholic" is something other than "Christian" (actually, this should follow the "Buddhism" pattern, i.e. "Roman Catholicism" and "Christianity" - as "Roman Catholic" and "Christian" means "a person following this faith", like "a Buddhist") - but in fact Roman Catholic Church is the oldest "Western" denomination of Christianity (the first "officially Christian" country in Europe - culturally speaking - was Armenia). "Roman", because it was "based" in Rome (Constantine the Great was the first Roman emperor who officially converted to Christianity in 337 AD), "Catholic" comes from a Greek word "katholikos" meaning "universal". And all the "other" Christian denominations (Protestants, Evangelicals, Baptist and what not) are much much younger Christian Churches, as they are all offshoots of Protestant Reformation, which took place only in XVI century (i.e. AFTER 1500 AD, well over a thousand years latter). Also, I guess you meant (could mean) "Buddhists, Roman Catholics and other Christians" (or "Christian denominations") but the way you have written this line suggests like "Roman Catholics" are something different than "Christians" - which looks kinda funny.

In a candle factory, the mass production process involves melting wax, pouring it into molds, adding fragrance and color, cooling, and packaging. It's a meticulous yet efficient operation, where every step is carefully executed to ensure quality candles are produced day in and day out.

The wicks are drawn through the bottom of the mold cavity, surrounded by wax, and then pulled out of the top of the cavity. What prevents the wax from leaking out of the bottom of the mold?
@dougaltolan3017
@dougaltolan3017 10 ай бұрын
A tight fit on the hole. Sure some drips will leak out, but they run down the next piece of wick and it's pulled up into the mold for the next candle.

Here in germany candles are either used as decoration, as a light source or for ceremonial purposes such as for after funeral rituals. What is often done is that graves get these candles that burn for upwards of 30 days, placed there by the family of whoever lies burried there. I seriously have no clue what the purpose of that is though.
