What is the reason for inserting the wicks AFTER the candle has been formed (the pillar candles)?

I think because the pillar candles will be to long to keep the wick straight when you put it in. The wick would bend before it touch to the bottom of the candle

I always wondered why imported candles felt greasy, so they make them with a blend of vegetable oil and wax huh. Also I never understood why they used a sticker to hold the wick in the drilled hole when a drop of wax would have been cheaper.

_Do_ they use the sticker for that? My understanding is that there's usually a little metal anchor (called a "sustainer") at the bottom of the wick that holds it upright.
