All of Earths creatures, big and small. Deserve our utmost respect and care. I am in awe of the incredible talent and work that they are capable of.

I’m honestly surprised they never mentioned termites… they claim bees are the closest insects have come to building cities… but termite colonies are probably even better. With the way they build giant structures, not just underground, but upwards… with their rooms for food storage, larvae, breeding, ventilation etc, and all the tunnels that connect them, they’re the most fascinating and brilliant structures in the animal kingdom. I’ve seen videos on here of artists who fill abandoned termite mounds with molten metals, then dig out the structure to sell, and the pieces are massive! Hundreds of pounds of metal showing every room, every tunnel… going ten feet deep, and twice as wide around. It’s amazing

FOR REAL!!! In Africa all the islands in the delta when it floods during the rainy season all those islands started out as a termite mound!! Where animals used to keep dry out of all the surrounding water on the flat plains the termites are the only thing that creates a dry space so birds will rest on the mounds dropping seeds and more and more vegetation develops on the mound animals use the mounds the outside part and burrow into the mound a foot to use it as a home! To raise their young! Over years and years and years that tiny 5 foot by 5 foot mound 7 feet high turns into an island 100’s of feet across all ways obviously there’s smaller islands and bigger islands because the termites expand every year!!

And they even have a dump!! Just like us humans all the waste and food waste gets dragged to one chamber and that’s why vegetation around the mound flourish because of the nutrients from the dead bugs and their waste

I assume it's because this series is "secret" nature, we all know about Termites, where all this stuff is lesser known, they could have made it more obvious

Why is the music louder than the narrator? What is the subject matter, the music or the narration?

I'm really surprised that I am having to write a comment to a traditional professional company on nature documentaries, but I must, I love the videos you make and produce. The reason for the comment is closed captioning!!!! I can't stress enough how important they are for hearing impaired and for fully deaf people. For the hearing impaired like me, it is so frustrating having to stop and rewind ,(frequently), to repeat what was said sometimes more than once, just to keep up with the program. I wish KZbin made it standard on every video however that's not the case it's up to the KZbinr. I realize that the unless your hearing impaired that you would have no clue the struggle and frustration it can be!!!! Thank you!!!!!¡

Agreed. Media should be made accessible for all. And auto captions aren’t good enough because they consistently get things wrong, especially if it’s trying to caption anyone with an accent, or talking fast. It’s a nightmare! I’m not Deaf/HoH myself, but late at night I like to put captions on so I can watch and read subtitles with the volume low so I don’t wake up my partner, but the auto caption quality is so poor it’s even harder to follow along. At bare minimum attach transcripts that we can scroll along with!

@@rustyshackleford6927 auto captions suck but I’ve been using closed captioning since it came out I’ve been hard of hearing since I was born, but you watch auto captions long enough I can follow along most of the time cause I’m not fully deaf so with the sound and subtitles I can still follow along but it probably took a good 10 years of watching captions and they honestly have gotten much better when they first came out you couldn’t watch anything live cause it couldn’t even come close, it was so bad they would be talking about a topic and done with and on another and bout two minutes later it’s still putting up the words from three minutes ago and that really throws you off them talking bout climate change but on the screen could be from a high speed chase they just previously talked about, hearing them say completely different words from the written was so confusing back then. It has definitely improved but like you said a long way to go. People don’t realize just how disconnected from society because they can’t hear or are hoh and something as closed captions can close the gap in communication for hoh and deaf people and it’s not a hard thing to do just people with normal hearing can never understand. I do believe one day it will be on all visual media.

It is down right viscous, what an insane insult to the other inhabitants of this planet. I hope they give their opinion to the people who made such an insulting decision! Thank you Julie, I am in your hut!

The Antlion he’s talking about it’s called “ Angle of repose” that’s where the hole is between 0 degrees and 90 degrees and it’s where the slope is at the point where if anything walks into it the bug/animal will slide down the hole!!
