Thank you for this informative video. I'll be in Greece during easter this year. And I would love to experience easter and its traditions up close. My question is are there any activities and if there are wich activities could I participate in as a non Greek or orthodox Christian without disrespecting the traditions and people during this important period?

You can buy a special Easter candle in Greece and go to church , Saturday Night. Everyone can go to church. It is a beautiful experience. Especially in Corfu.

@@vasilikikourbeli1026 thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I will make sure to buy this special candle and go to church on saturday night! I will be in Kalampáka during easter and not Corfu but hopefully it will be a beautiful experience there as well. Καλό Πάσχα - Χριστός Ανέστη

Very interesting facts! Question: I am Lambros, So my nameday would be around these days? Do you know if I get one? I was told namedays in Greece are celebrated almost as much as your birthday.. is that right?
@helinika2 жыл бұрын
Yes your name should be celebrated on that day :) Indeed, namedays are quite important in Greece. There is no birthday cake but lots of treats for friends and family ^^

Actually the birthday is unimportant celebration compared to your name day regarding Orthodox faith. In practice is considered equal by many, but certainly birthday is not more important than you name day. So it depends if you are a person of faith or not.
