The L2350 is an awesome machine. No doubt, but the record of CAT in the mining ops around the world speaks for itself. How big is too big? Well, if time and money are factured in, it is obvious that the L2350 might just be the right machine for your mining op. It is quite a capable machine, but one must weigh down time for servicing this mega machine vs the overall operating cost. Nothing new here. Mining ops do this stuff 24/7 and they know the drill. The mining expo, by the way, is very cool. I plan on attending the 2016 expo. You really must go if you are into these massive machines. Personally, I like the CAT992 the most because it has a lengthy track record in mining ops. Field servicing is excellent in most cases and the 992 is very nimble and quite flexibility around the mining facility. Once saw a 992 with a dozer blade. Very cool. Excellent video, but question the weight of the L2350 being at or near that of a 747. I thought it weighed more than a 737. Am I wrong?🔧
@frankcrawford4166 жыл бұрын
It does not weigh near a 747. I believe a 747 should weigh near a million pounds fully loaded and fueled. The most powerful machine made by man is the Saturn 5 rocket. Weighed 3,500 tons and 7 1/2 million pounds thrust. That is equivalent of 160 million horsepower!
@wouldukindly86285 жыл бұрын
Also need to factor in this is SR drive and doesnt have as many mechanical components, Also available from the same company is the L1850, L1350, WA1200 which all out do cat loaders

The typical sites this would be found on will be dry, rocky and solid. Shear weight provides plenty of traction. Tire life is a MUST. You don't want this in the mud. What will you recover it with if you get it stuck?
@Margalus6 жыл бұрын
@@NeilLB7 I think you mean "when" it gets stuck. ;o) Something that heavy will sink fast.
@thomashodis57406 жыл бұрын
@@Margalus - were talking about half a million pounds. Like he said shear weight will provide plenty of traction . And towing it out or in general would be a task. But if it wasnt under it's own power while trying to pull it out would really cause problems. But just like this mega sized machine they have machines that are intended to do that exact job. But they are used on certain types of terrain. And they dont get stuck as often as you'd think.
@Margalus6 жыл бұрын

No rJay Stillwell, they do not. The parking lots are built far heavier than a standard parking lot, as a load of several hundred tons is not considered normal, and is not required for a local grocery store.
