Actually James would be correct. It's a binary code that us PLC programmers use (they can be programmed to N.O. or N.C.) to start things. Most times they're used for a seal in circuits for machines however the binary code can be used to turn off or on (the 1 is on, 0 off) and is universal, therefore everyone uses it so there isn't a confusion.

Actually runway numbers have nothing to do do with telling pilots which runway is "suitable" for landings vs. takeoffs. They simply indicate the direction it faces, but landing and takeoffs can be done on any runway and usually depend on the direction the wind is blowing at the time.

No, landing runways have springs built into the tarmac so the plane bounces just a bit absorbing most of the energy. Otherwise the plane would break up from the impact forces. Take off runways are built to be as hard as possible to allow the plane to propel itself into the sky from a very firm footing. It's all about the bouncyness and hardness. Numbers under 180, typically in the 20's or 30's have medium springiness for passenger jet landings. Take off runways have hardness's of 180+ Luckily, pilots know this stuff, even if the KZbin community doesn't!

The numbers on runways DO correspond to compass directions, however they do NOT correspond to which runway is “made for landing or taking off”. Airplanes takeoff and land on certain runways depending on wind direction. If the wind favors runway 32, planes will takeoff and land on the same runway, in the same direction, to fly the plane into the wind, allowing for more lift, control, and slower landing speeds.

Well if a brighter light source is shone onto the flame, yes it will cast a shadow. So it's not as silly as it sounds. You can actually see a faint shadow from the flame on the candle because either a lamp or camera flash was lighting it up.

Maple Syrup bottle handles are there so you can break the cap free when it crystalizes or you can hang it from the ceiling to keep it warmer in winter. It's called a "stay loop" and it's to guide the positioning of cord wrapped around the neck of the bottle so the cord stays on the strong part. Its why on other bottles there are two stay-loops.

I was shocked to find out that a flame cannot cast a shadow. When I was a high school junior, I did my advanced chemistry research paper on the chemical and physical properties of the candle. There was a written and oral portion. During the oral portion I lit a candle in the darkened room and threw a strong spot light upon it. +dick head + chris skuller i have several pans were this works well, and unless you use a Spoon thats made out of lead you wont have any trouble for the pan tipping over, and if youre smart you turn the handle over the rest of the oven so if it tips it wont fall. +spooky drinks too much yeah, some are designed really bad. mostly works with oval holes.

I find the maple syrup handle quite useful for pouring. I pinch the tips of my index finger and thumb through the hole as the side of the bottle is cantilevered against the back of my other fingers when tilted. Significant control, actually. :-) Good luck, everyone!

+glenna schoeler to each their own. i'm trying to think what i haven't seen dipped in ketchup. or mayo. i am one of those people who has parents from different cultural regions (of the US) and the looks i used to get asking for sweat tea when visiting relatives. or our stories about hot dog chili. we definitely see the differences in how different people eat food differently. also my area around where i live has a somewhat unusual definition of a cheese dog according to outsiders. (just cheese on the bun, no meat, unless it's in the chili) i'm also the only person in teh room who didnt make a funny face when my boss told us she puts mayo on her hot dogs. Pretty sure it's actually from the flame too, not smoke or another gas. If that was the case the shadow wouldn't be shaped like the flame. The flame blocks some light otherwise we could see through it, just the flame gives off its own light which is usually bright enough to eliminate the shadow

This guy likes to act like a lot of these things were intended to work differently when they initially came to be, but in reality, pulling apart the the little paper and wax cups is "the wrong way". FWIW, even though they hold slightly less ketchup when still in tact, I'd prefer to just fill a couple of them than use this trick. If you need that much ketchup, just poor it directly on your plate or something.
