@Angel Fox I'm pretty sure the french eat Steak Tartare like we eat in in belgium, as a main dish and not as a spread. I think you're confusing it with "Americain Préparé" which is a spread (also with raw lean beef though) but tastes totally different. Here in belgium eat a Steak Tartare with fries. But you do have to mix all the ingredients together. You don't eat it like they ate it with the egg just on top, bleh! But all mixed together with the egg, sour gherkins, mustard, peper, salt, capers, Worcestershire sauce, bit of tabasco... with some fries, yes please.

They will never ever eat a dish like "Pieds et paquet marseillais" !! Because you take feet and belly of lambs !! You eat your own culture. I mean that foie gras doesn't belong to the british, american, australian or anywhere in the world culture. Eating some delicious legs of frogs in Bordeaux, Nice, Lyon, Strasburg or Paris it's okay ! In Liverpool, London, Los Angeles, Sydney or Chicago it's no way !! that's the way it is..... Enjoy.

In Germany we also eat raw beef and meat. Most likely on bread rolls. We put some onions in there and spice it up with salt and pepper and then we eat it. It's called METTBRÖTCHEN.

Coc a vine is stew chicken in wine, but unlike most roaster chickens(who are slaughtered when they reach a certain size an therefore are fairly young), they use older chickens who can no longer lay eggs making the meat different from the younger chickens.

Tartare is actually a pretty common sandwich topping in the Netherlands. Get some tartare and onion, little salt and pepper, maybe a hard boiled egg. It is minced up more than actual tartare like you would get it as a dish, but it's basically the same: raw beef.

How did I miss this one?! I thought I caught all the taste videos as they appeared. French food can be delicious. Especially the rustic, rural dishes. These are classic French dishes guaranteed to horrify even, I should think, many French people. Good on you all for at least trying it. Me, even if I ate meat I wouldn't go near tartare. Ha! Donal's French at the end. Fun. :D

Perso, il n'y a que la soupe à l'oignon que je n'ai jamais goûté. Le reste oui, et c'est délicieux. Même si c'est assez emblématique de la France, ce ne sont pas des plats mangés souvent ; surtout le tartare et le foie gras.

not just the two, you put salt, pepper and maybe onion and it's tasty as hell ^^
@Raleighrit7 жыл бұрын
Jake 😂😂 The egg yolk is supposed to 'cook' the meat. The chef prepare the raw patty and then the onions, capers, ketchup, mustard, Tabasco, lemon and parsley on the side, so it could be prepared on your own by your preferences. It stayed a classic but not as widely eaten nowadays as a cooked steak.
@stepanvejvoda89866 жыл бұрын
You have to mix meat with yolk, onions, tabasco, mustard, pepper salt (it depends how you like it somone choose ketchup) and then put it on toast or roastedd bread and it is so good!!! In czech republic it is very common
@MarkSkids6 жыл бұрын
Štěpán Vejvoda They do a great tartare at U Bulinu near Namesti Miru in Prague.
@bcaye6 жыл бұрын
Jake, that dish is a classic. I will say, they should have been instructed to mix the egg, capers and onions into the meat with salt and pepper. Some people add other condiments like hot sauce or ketchup. It should be a medium grind of a high quality beefsteak, very fresh. It really is delicious, honestly.

French food is scary when it's described to you and you see it, but when you taste it it's wonderful. Foi gras is amazing in small amounts. Tartare is the most tender beef you'll ever eat, if made fresh it's very safe to eat. Coque au vin! Beef burgundy! Meat cooked in wine. Even escargot, snails sauteed in garlic and butter, just don't think about it.
