Panasonic set their own bar so high when the FZ1000 came out in 2014, NOT 2016!! That the camera still holds its own 7+ years later as of 2021! ... The MK 2 is such a marginal upgrade. If you want a more substantial upgrade, get the FZ2000. Although it is widely reported that the FZ2000's lens is not as sharp as the FZ1000., But even then, the 1000 isn't too shabby compared to the 2000 either.. I'm sticking with the 1000 as it still delivers the goods, even by todays standards!

I wish I could say the same, but after all this time, my the fz1000 is acting up. I guess the humidity in Vietnam doesn't sit well with it, and the buttons and the screen stopped working. They tell me it's the motherboard and the printed cables inside it, and they cannot fix it here. That's really a shame, because I still love this camera, and beside all those problems, it's still fine. But time takes its toll on it. Nothing lasts forever.

The upgrades include touchscreen, post focus function, image auto marking, and focus stacking. As far as I know, the image quality is the same as the original model. Not sure if there was an upgrade for image stabilization

The original FZ1000 was a leader in bridge camera offering 4K, 120 FPS @1080P, these were really great specs at the time. The 4K was great, Though at 120 fps, iso, aperture, and shutter speed can't be changed, which make shooting experience very disappointing. And the new model didn't seem to have any major spec upgrades from the original model. Very disappointed.

I think it's more for people who didn't bought FZ1000 before and not a equipment upgrading. At least panasonic is not cash grabbing by doing constant slow upgrade and putting out the best from the beginning, unlike most of the companies out there with different versions every year.

I shoot in raw, often in 16:9, so not with the full sensor size. However I still want to have the full sensor’s image available later in the raw-processor (Lightroom), so that I can adjust the framing of the selected crop (eg vertically). This is not possible with the FZ1000 (or the GH4). This was once a showstopper for me buying the FZ1000. In comparison, Canon's compact cameras had that capability then already for years. This has changed, all newer Panasonic models have that capability and I would assume that the FZ1000 II has got this basic feature now as well. By the way, despite the information in this video, the FZ1000 has NO touch capability.

I bought my FZ1000 in 2014! was not released in 2016! What other FACTS did you get wrong?
@peterdisbury634611 ай бұрын
FZ1000ii was Released in 2019 ( 5 years later ) offers better upgrades to the Original. The Original, I had 2 of them, the latest I had 1 of those too. Great device for sure. Better to get the new one because it is still available and the older one is now DISCONTINUED….

Franz is right plus there are other specs on the new camera you completely missed. You need to go back and do your homework. Good graphics ... poor coverage.

it is added three Fn buttons on the lens front of the camera for auto focus, re-focusing on the original area and grid-area .... the burst feature is longer exposure.

This is really really disappointing from Panasonic; 3 years later and they release the same camera with a minor upgrade to the screen, for double the street price. Meanwhile Sony has done 4 iterations of their RX10 (I have the v4 and was REALLY hoping Pana would come out with a beater)
@kennethchartrand42515 жыл бұрын
Your exactly right. I have the fz1000 for years now and I wanted to upgrade and was totally hoping that Pany would come out with something worthwhile upgrading but No. Im seriously thinking of getting the Sony Rx10 IV. When you travel a lot, these types of cameras make a lot of sense instead of transporting tons of glass.

So basically you pay extra 400$ for that red circle around the lens and extra 240k screen dots????? what an upgrade, bravo panasonic.

So, from what I can tell there's 3 or 4 minor differences between the Mk1 and the Mk2. And the Mk2 is double the price? No thanks. I'll stick with what I've got!
