I loved the show when i was a kid..later i remember Todd and Dana struggling with addictions and couldnt understand why they couldnt just get right until i ended up personaly going through addiction issues myself for many years..Its something I don't wish on anybody..I make five years clean in November. And i now help others to stay clean.. But many relapse and dont make it..Its very heartbreaking to witness. Dana Plato didnt make it but Todd Bridges did..As hard as it may sound some have to die for others to live when it comes to addiction..But no addict needs to suffer. Because we can, and we do recover..Rip Dana Plato and the rest of the cast..

Gary Coleman's (among a few others) experience was the catalyst for strengthening the Coogan laws in California. Parents are no longer allowed to spend their actor child's money foolishly (or to support household expenses), 10% of earnings are actually required to be transferred to a trust account (called a Coogan account, this was the part that was actually law before Coleman's experience) and parents/managers have to account for every penny of the remainder.

Beautiful cast which was a strength and accessibility fod audiences around the world There was something about that as an ensemble that is extremely magical and extremely rare and in many ways shows like the Golden Girls, the early seasons of Rosanne had a similar ensemble magic to rhem Gary and Dana had such tragic lives in the end i whilst i still love watching them, it is heartbreaking. Gary was literally one of the greatest child stars of all time. Nobody in the 70s onwards could touch and likely he is the last of that particular Hollywood legacy.

Gary Coleman's experience also caused the California Legislature to pass a law restricting how parents and/or managers can manage the money the child actors earn. It can no longer be used for household expenses and every penny has to be accounted for. Parents can take a small commission if they are the child's manager(s) but even that is tightly regulated. As for Coogan accounts, 10% of every dime a child actor earns goes into a trust fund managed by an industry credit union and the child actor can receive it at age 18.

ANYTIME THAT A CHARACTER THAT IS NOT BELIEVABLE IS PUT WITH CHARACTERS THAT ARE BELIEVABLE IT ALMOST NEVER WORKS OUT!!!
