@@Daniel_Batal hey mate... I like your noob shorts from the point of view of a habit-forming check-in / digestible / potentially community-building pov... and from your pov they can be efficient to create (however my last short took maybe 25 hours with 5 being of that being my 1st fairlight mix) and maybe shorts get more eyeballs leading to the "potentially community-building" comment earlier. I'm "playing" with shorts for similar reasons and generally pick up a sub or 2 from each short (and hopefully their attention span will tolerate some of my long form to make it at all worthwhile. Here's my point... I like to save any DR vid (or anything associated) that I have used to learn a skill in making my vids to a playlist so if I can't quite remember how to next time, I can easily see the lesson again in my "Jimbob's Production School" playlist... only thing is with your shorts... it looks like shorts can't be saved to a playlist. Would 1:01 to 3mins in non-short format work better for you (monetisation-wise) and maybe as a playlist where if you get on that train (or Buss) it's harder to get off (once the playlist has built out with good SEO & tags (long-term thinking here though)). You could call the playlist "The Gravy Train"? 😜

But... why? I've liked all these shorts so far, but this one, I don't get. Why not just use the fade slider or (in a pinch, right click and add a cross fade for clips that aren't back to back with others)? Does this method offer some kind of better control with the extra time it takes to set up?
@Daniel_Batal
@Daniel_Batal 6 ай бұрын
I’ve covered several ways to accomplish similar results. Using the corner key will give you a fast fade to/from complete black. Using keyframes allows you more control. Perhaps you don’t want a full fade, perhaps you want a curve in the keyframe fade spline, perhaps you want the footage to start to fade out then come right back to full opacity. Learning keyframing gives you a deeper level of control in a variety of project applicationsz Hope that helps ☮️

I have nothing against this video. But I feel that filmora is much more easier to use, that's why I prefer filmora than a complicated da Vinci resolve.
@Daniel_Batal
@Daniel_Batal 7 ай бұрын
I say use what works! That being siad, I should point out that Resolve is a Pro level video editing software, Filmora... not so much. Also, Resolve has a completely free version (Filmora doesn't) that users can get started with right away. It's much more high functioning than even Filmora's paid version. Filmora also no longer offers a lifetime license, Resolve does. And now Filmora is starting to put new features inside of the software behind separate paywalls.

how to do this in fairlight
@Daniel_Batal
@Daniel_Batal 8 ай бұрын
Fastest way? In Fairlight, Expand the tracks so they’re taller and easier to view as I’ve shown in previous videos, hover on your video segment and grab the fade in/fade out key markers in the upper left and right corner of that clip. Drag to where you want the fade in/fade out to occur.

Thanks Daniel will it work on an image? My wife pulled an image from a you tube background she made me and every time I tried fading, it deleted the clip that was underneath the image? It's causing stagnation on my progress and I really hope this works. Thank you again

Absolutely true. I have another video showing that. Though, that will only give you direct fade in/fade out data points. If you want to change the spline and have full customization of the curve... or even start /end your fade not from fully black, understanding keyframing is going to give you a lot more pro level control.
