Fade In Versus Final Draft - Which one is Better?

I should really do a follow up video on this topic because some stuff has changed, though I still think most people will go with FadeIn. I love the software myself and use it on a weekly basis, in between all the other software I am reviewing. Thank you for your feedback!

I just bought Fade in and to enhance it also purchased Aeon Timeline, and I must say, it's been a game-changer for me after looking for and trying lots of different softwares. I can easily visualize and organize the chronology of events in my projects, whether it's plotting the storyline of a novel, mapping out historical events for research purposes, or even planning the stages of a complex project.

I've been a fadein user buyer for about two years... I've up until recently only used the basic features... now I can say its a tremendous value and kah-kahs over Final Draft in being practical, accessible, simple and feature rich. The only downsides are some of the features need to be easier to access. I also think Fadein should do a video showing a person writing a script and showing how to use nearly each and every feature.

I agree that would be really nice if Fadein did that as it could really show off the strength of their program. I think it is a small company and they don't have the people power to do that unfortunately. I know their social media of choice is Twitter. Maybe if enough people would bug them they would do that. I have been thinking of asking them if i could do some brand content for my channel. So maybe they will jump at that. Glad u enjoy Fadein and the what it allows us to do as screenwriters.

I've been using Fade In since the start, but I hope they'll add the beats and story stuffs that Final Draft has, in the future. Right now, I do index cards + Scrivener and then Fade In. I wish I could use only one program...

What about this combination works for? What do you like using fade in over scrivener for? Their editing features? Would u consider something like as scrite which has a lot of pre work features. Granted they still haven’t figured out their pricing model yet.

@@ScreenwritingScribe Hello, I use Scrivener for everything before actually writing the script. I have a cinema file where I have all my different projects together. I develop the characters, the themes, I put some research, i write the logline and the synopsis etc. I also use paper index cards so I can manipulate them and write scenes without opening my laptop. Fade In is where I finish the work, but I could use some of Final Draft tools to have a better overall view of what I am doing. Especially once I reach 80-100 pages... I don't know script, I'll have a look, thanks. i don't intend to change, but who knows...

@@ScreenwritingScribe Well, if I wanted, I would just buy Final Draft. No, I'd just like Fade In to have a few more tools I could use once I start the actual script, as it is really the software I enjoy the most. Maybe one day I'll buy Final Draft to see.

Hi, how to set permanently in the program Fade in font Courier New in which I would like to write because this font has Polish characters? Whenever I set this font after a while the program knocks it out and puts Courier screenwriter font. I want to write in Polish and for me it is a hindrance when I cannot use Polish characters. Please suggest what to do to write Courier New freely?

Actually have you looked at Scrite? It is a software that is made in India and is free at this time. It has a lot of great features. As for your question. Is screenwriting more a hobby for you or a profession? If it is a hobby i would go with fade in. If it is a profession go with final draft. Let me know if u have more questions. Thanks!
