I've seen this done on my buddy's spark. Works great! Thanks Kevin

That's because we followed the steps outlined by Sea-Doo! It's how they recommend repairing their Polytec.

Thanks so much for all your hard work, great tips. Do you have a product and method recommendation for restoring the seat material?

Did you do around your instrument cluster too? Is it ok to carefully do this around your speedo read out?? Thanks !

Thankfully, we didn't need to. But in many cases, yes it may be necessary - and yes, it is safe if you take your time and are skillful with the gun.

How long did it hold up? Have you had to redo it yet? (2 years later)

Kevin, on the nose piece, there are a couple of "wet" looking spots. Was this too much, too little heat that is causing these splotchy areas?
@watercraftjournal3 жыл бұрын
Permanent "wet spots" are where too much heat was applied. Admittedly, we got too close in 3 small areas. A good coat of plastic dressing helps even that out.

I never thought of that 🤔 I need to try it out thanks 😊

It's really ONLY if you've got severely bleached/sun damaged plastics.

We've seen a lot of wipes and dressings, some more expensive than others. We wanted to use two VERY common brand names as well as Sea-Doo's own brand and see how they fared.

Can you tell me which restorer you recommend to clean the colored plastic?

I typically use the same stuff with equal effect.

@@watercraftjournal Too much progress with the new technology but not enough fun like we used to with the old school 2 stroke technology. Nothing is simple anymore

Sorta true. The Trixx and EXR are both riots - I strongly suggest giving those a whirl. Plus, they're both 50 state legal and don't leave snail trails in the water!
