Fading Steps:
Trim top using 2 fingers for length, match left and right sections to middle for even length.
1st step, Debulk with 3 guard lever open
2nd step, blend in 2 guard lever open right under that
3rd step, set in guideline with 0 lever closed
4th step, lever open set in next guideline
5th step, 1 guard lever open next guideline
7th, step blend out top guideline w/ 1.5 guard open to 3 qtr
8th step, blend second guideline w/ .5 guard open to 3 qtr
9th step, continue blending second guideline w/ 1 guard open to 3 qtr
10th step, blend first guideline w zero, lever closed
11th step, open lever half way, continue blending
12th step, continue blending with lever open
13th step, do any touch up work
14th step, use trimmers to take out bottom hair
15th step, use electric shaver

This is a great fading technique but they don't ever explain the one part I see people in the comment section struggling with...HOW FAR UP ARE YOU SUPPOSE TO GO WITH THE 0.5 GUARD? ARE YOU SUPPOSE TO GO UP TO WHERE THE 1.5 WAS LAST USED ARE A LITTLE BELOW IT??

Yes I’m sorry it’s just kind of hard to explain this but I tell pple just start at the smallest distance going over the line and from there measure if you need to stretch it a little further to better blend it out. Every hair is different so some might just need a little distance in blending while others might need wider blending but still staying under the line the the above guard set if that makes sense. Then when coming back with the 1 guard at 3/4 you might even pass up the guideline a bit but now we’re more so focused on using the clippers in a blending motion as apposed to setting in a guideline. I hope that makes sense.

@@maryjanecanija6333 es seguro que el comienzo de ellos fue igual, no lo hacían como lo hacen ahora, porque esto se trata de un desarrollo de habilidades nuevas, y como toda habilidad pasa por un proceso de pulimiento, donde se incorporan pequeñas habilidades y que van sumando hasta lograr estos resultados. No se puede alcanzar un acabado mejor si no hay errores de por medio, y corregirse es parte de ese aprendizaje; por ejemplo, la primera vez que haces mal el delineado de patillas o frente, te das cuenta, lo corriges, si no se puede porque se sube mucho, te queda marcado ese recuerdo en la memoria y lo que haces es sacar la lección, aprender bien el cómo y ya no te vuelve a pasar, etc; ánimo, estas rumbo al éxito si sigues para adelante porque solo siguiendo adelante se avanza.

Very good tutorials for beginners to learn from. However in my opinion this process is not necessarily good for a shop environment. If your doing so many steps like this video shows you better be charging $50 minimum per cut. Note there's a few ways you can save time. I will just note going back to the perotol ridge area 3 different times can be done quicker also if your running the shaver after the fade is done what your not seeing in the video is the line it creates of you go up to far you can easily ruin the fade ,I would much rather go up with the zero 1st establish the fade height and before you create the no guard open guideline go ahead and run the shaver all around it saves time and avoids ruining the fade at the end with the shaver.also I would leave the scissor work for the very end after the fade is done you can go ahead and connect the top to the fade instead of running a 3 guard and flicking out. . Great tutorial I'm a fan of the detail man but I won't make money using this process where I work .
