My self improvement journey has not been this steady ascension into enlightenment, like some would have you believe. It's been LOTS of failure, and spinning my wheels. If you feel the same way, this might help :)

@@GOWfanatics I will try: if you want to become your better version, you can't force that, it has to come from source of love and with respect towards yourself Example: Instead of doing exercise to impress others or showing others that you are strong, you shall do it to take care of yourself : showing respect to your body and yourself -- Do it so you can feel better Because if you hate yourself into become a better version of you -- then what's the point? Remember in the first place you were doing this to become happy better version of yourself -- take care of yourself push slowly with love and care

Excellent talk. I changed everything about myself because one day I realized how my selfish and reckless behavior destroyed those who I loved. I sent the first 30 years of my life never being sober and always getting into fights. The night I truly saw what my irresponsible actions did to those close to me was the last night I tasted alcohol or used any kind of drug ever again. My new life is 16 years in the making and I feel so much better for changing. Long story just to say I agree with what you say - it comes from love.

3 minutes of stretching every day sounds like sooo much work to me, I'm not even kidding
@user-sf7fm1bi1p
@user-sf7fm1bi1p 2 жыл бұрын
Haha, this is exactly what I thought when he said that as well. It's a constant struggle to get myself to brush my teeth everyday, and that takes roughly as long. I'm pretty sure that one of those self-help books would tell you to start even smaller than 3 minutes of stretching if that's much, though. So like, just sit down on the floor in the spot where you plan to do stretches and then get back up right away, and do that every day and mark it down as a success when you do it, then hopefully you'll eventually start to have days where you do this and feel like you may as well do a few stretches now that you're sitting in the right spot for it already. This never really worked for me either, though, since it's hard not to build up a subconscious expectation that eventually you'll start to feel like doing those stretches, and then when after a month it's still not working you begin to want to give up. Anyway, wish I had something better to tell you but I haven't been able to figure anything out for myself either so all I can do is wish you luck.

I was just watching this video on emotional health about why we will never reach our goals kzbin.info/www/bejne/oX7XpWtqZ6yUfbc and is just like you said: the profound desire for change, independent of the level of discomfort or direction, is the awakening of our (self-)awareness. Most of us don’t know want WE want (is more like what we Think we want because society said so), and then we focus so much on the destination, or change, that we forget to not only enjoy the failures, successes and lessons along the way, but also that the whole point of change is to take those ridiculously small and incremental steps towards loving yourself (really). Great content, keep up!

I have this big issue with conscientiousness, there's none of it the only C I get from the OCEAN comes from the N so that means I'm productive when I'm neurotic I experience lots and lots of anxiety, spiraling circles in cycles I have great openness though.. but I'm also very introverted, the thing that u blend with neurotocism and get something miserable can't have motivation longer than a day if anyone has a situation close to mine, I just really really recommend therapy. because if there's someone who is keeping you socially accountable it starts to work (slow but it's better when it's slow 'cause slow doesn't mean spiraling down). for a long time I've running from it, telling myself I don't have enough money for it, but u have to not be blindfolded by your own self with such poor excuse really. when it got really bad I found a great therapist that doesn't charge nearly as much as I thougt it required)
