At my mother's funeral, the vast majority of her relatives who came told me, in no uncertain terms, that they would not speak to me again, because I spoke too many languages and did not know enough white people. Mom was American. Dad was from the Netherlands. 9:00 My uncle, a few years ago was going off about immigrants getting benefits. Keep in mind this man has been on disability from the military for about 50 years. While on disability, he ran a business doing home repair, so the disability was not terrible. No lost limbs, no impaired physical movement, even. He did a lot of work under the table, so I think they got food stamps. He has used VA medical for unrelated issues, too. Just general health. So when he made his comment about immigrants, it really pissed me off. I kept chill, though, and just said as plain as toast, “That’s not true, and you know it.” He had no response. He couldn’t say he did or didn’t know, because either he’d look ignorant or like a liar.

I donated a kidney many years ago in the early days of transplantation. As the saying goes..no good deed goes unpunished and my remaining kidney failed. I receive a transplant 15 years ago and it is in early rejection stage. So looking ahead I have no idea how Trump may change medicare which covers transplants, care and dialysis. Now it is important to note, every kidney donor I have ever met has come through it with flying colors. Kidney donors do not suffer kidney failure of the remaining kidney any more than the population at large. So to my point. Donating a kidney to someone who is potentially willing to kill you makes no sense. You can donate a kidney that will be matched with another recipient but you will not know who that is. I hope this helps. You are very special to even consider potentially offering a kidney.

My MAGA stepmom lost her mind ranting to me on the phone about how she doesn't care if trans people want to be a different gender but how dare they demand she use different pronouns when referring to them. I just laughed and laughed because THAT is why she drove 2 hours back to her previous hometown (she moved recently) to vote for Pumpkin Spice Palpatine????? Then I sobered up and calmly told her that because of his planned tariffs, I just had to kill off 2/3rds of the imported printed on demand products in my online store (which is my only source of income to help my family because I'm chronically ill from autoimmune illnesses). And how her 23 yr old type 1 diabetic grandson may get kicked off our family insurance soon. And how I may get kicked off my hubby's insurance due to my preexisting autoimmune illnesses. And how 75 people at my hubby's workplace were just fired because they were immigrants, so my hubby is having to work extra days to help train new people (who are also immigrants, so what was even the point?!) so now we can't go down to Texas to see her. She got real quiet after that.

They aren't donating because they don't want to get hit with a $500,000 medical bill, which would normally be covered under the ACA. They'd probably still donate if the recipient takes on the financial responsibility.

Prisonners working in camps will not help with the tariffs : they will take the jobs that already exist in the US, Trump will not build entirely new factories to produce merch that nowadays is imported from China. Even if he was able to do it, you would still pay tariffs on the raw materials. And it would still be much, much more costly than importing those goods, because you would only have the advantadge of very low salaries BUT what about the laws about contamination and security ? Good for Maga if they want to enjoy paying more for a product made by prisonners in camps, while the firm employing those prisonners lays off its regular employees and reject heavily toxic fumes and fluids... in the US.

However, the fascist MAGA/America First movement, which has completely taken over the US Republican Party, may not disappear when Trump kicks the bucket or is quietly hidden away from the public as his brain turns to mush. If the fascists manage to enshrine voter suppression in enough state laws, or federally, or if they simply do away with free elections then you may have a long-term dictatorship. It's true that Spain and Chile both reverted to democracy after lengthy periods of dictatorship without too much trauma and violence, but you have this peculiar problem in the US of your insane gun laws, which means that fascist militias do not need to gain control of the state's military arsenals to arm themselves and spread murder and mayhem... they already have hundreds of thousands of people armed with automatic weapons and who have demonstrated a willingness to use them. I won't try and predict the future, but on 5 November a large majority of Yankee voters showed that they didn't care about democracy, by either voting for a fascist or by not bothering to vote at all (which is effectively the same thing), so I don't think you have much cause for optimism over there.

Thank you for this great complication. I need help! Any advice would be very much appreciated. Before the election, my husband and I discussed giving his two nieces and two nephews each $2k for Christmas. All are married with children except for one niece. I love them all, but the unmarried, childless niece is my absolute favorite. She’s a doll and I love her so much. Her political and world views align with ours perfectly. I’m not as close with her brother, but he has a brand spanking new baby and we will be giving him the usual $200 when we see him at Xmas. As far as I know this nephew is apolitical like his dad, but I’m not sure (irritating AF!) My biggest concern is with the other niece and nephew. They and their spouses are hard core MAGA. I would prefer we put the money in savings for their children (each have three) which my husband and I would manage. We would contribute yearly. Once the children become 21 or maybe older then they would have full access to this money. My husband feels they could use the money now to help raise the children. I disagree. For context, both live paycheck to paycheck and think Trump will make them rich 😵‍💫 I can’t stand the nieces husband - full on narcissistic turd and gross. The nephew is raising two of his children because their mom died; I haven’t met the new wife and their little child yet. We will all be together on Xmas day. I want it to be a happy, wonderful time together. I’m really torn on this so I would love to hear other opinions on this.

Young children matter, put the money in gift cards to their local grocery store, or store they shop at for the kids cloths or school supplies or give them cards to gas stations they use, you don't need to hand the maga idiots cash, yet you can still help the kids.

At 12:39 this woman asks the right question: What are you going to do, if you can´t get rid of the people which you have interneed (hope it´s right spelled)? Well, as a German I know what we had done...; make them a person of III claas/be a racist/fascist; criminalise them than detain them for that; because of the costs let them exercise slavery work; starve them; and finally... Transportation ist not a problem by train, more than 6 Million People were transportated between 1939 - 1945; and by appropriation their deposits the victims paid for their own deportation. There wasn´t a fund for the holocaust. Don´t forget it wasn´t a problem to transport the slaves from africa without any modern technics. I bet there are some who still believes those were the great times, should we think humans have developed? I hope, but I´am not convinced.
