Camping overnight with tarp in the snowfall. Snowshoes helps a lot for walking in the early winter woods.

I watch cold weather camping trips for a virtual experience. I cook and enjoy. Set up camp for comfort. Build fires for warmth and cozy down for a comfortable nights sleep. Erik, your videos provide none of these virtual experiences. Your camps are harsh and uncomfortable. Your cooking is completely uneatable. Your fires provide no warmth. I watch and can do nothing but shiver thru your entire video ! Warm up a bit ! Eat something appetizing. Cozy up a little . Clean up the camp. And sleep well !

Camping in brutal winter weather? Who needs a tent and propane heater? Just extra weight. A lean-to tarp is plenty of protection. Erik has incredible survival skills. If the world came to an end, he would survive with the cockroaches. He is indestructible. BTW, does he ever hike and camp in good weather? The hardest thing must be putting his boots back on in the morning. They have to he icy.

@Anton Boludo Yeah Ontario is strange that way. I think the divides are more based on population than geography. I live by the coast of lake superior and the land is much different than the fertile land of the southern half of Ontario. What gets me with Erik's videos (besides them being very well done) is that even though we are half the world apart, the boreal forest stays very similar. I'm lucky that I have some awesome tripping buddies, but I'll admit that motor sports, hunting and angling are the more popular forms of outdoors activities here. Have you been to gatineau? I've heard that it's gorgeous.

It;'s like magic. Erik seems to pop in out of nowhere. Just walkin' - No drop-off, no driving in, no nuthin'. He sleeps overnight (if he does) in some field, maybe on his cousin's land, and then maybe he goes home to edit the video; am i right? Why is he wearing snowshoes? I can see the ground at the base of a tree; it doesn't look very deep....

In winter minimum day length is only few hour. It is hard find any activity in dark hours except keeping fire on. Remote windless forest in winter are very quiet place. For melting snow you need bigger cup than half liter With lid. Smoked water taste like tire rubber. Light snow have very low density. Air mattress is very cold. It must be foam mattress with heat reflect layer.
