Going inland Västerbotten, at the Petikån river, for an overnighter in the wild. Perfect conditions to sleep on the snow, under the bare sky. Skiing with the pulk on hard snow, sitting by the fire, making food and coffee, and just living some good and simple outdoor life.

The last “coffee scene”, in front of the dilapidated building-house, shed, ice-fishing cover, what?-was most satisfying. When the weather is that good, then the temperature isn’t important. Thanks for another great video.

I think it is a shed used to house hay... There are sheds similar to that one here in Finland as well. People used to make hay for cows and horses from the marshes, meadows etc. and stored them in those kind of sheds. Hay was then transported usually during winter time with horse and sleigh. That's my guess just by looking at the landscape... So I can be way off with my guess. And yes, totally agree... That was the most satisfying part of this video. :)

Great video. I've been stuck inside for all of February. Southern Alberta, where I live, set a new 50-year record for coldest month of February. The temperature hourly average was less than -20C for the entire month. We had many nights where it got below -35C. That's a little too dangerous for my taste. In those conditions it just takes one incident to find yourself in big trouble. An unexpected storm, spilling your fuel, hurting yourself, getting wet. Things that are normally manageable when it's just around freezing are much harder to deal with when it's extremely cold. I have some great hikes planned for this summer. I can't wait to start posting real hiking videos instead of gear reviews. Cheers.

@@MrBirgerB .. not just anywhere and of any type. Dependant on the local Gemeinde and the fire restrictions in place at the time. There are dedicated 'braai' areas set out in the forests along the established walking paths .. however, these can become quite crowded at times .. not much space for 'solitude'. Also, penalties can be extremely harsh, so one tends to 'err' on the safe side. Wild Camping .. out of the question.

Hey ! Again superbe film , colors , sounds , I think this forest is more diverse as tree life , you chose again a very nice location , as for your sleep system ... Is *down* the only option compare to *synthetics* would you suggest buying a synthetic , for winter gear ???

Thanks Patrice. To get the same insulation with synthetic the bag gets very big and heavy, but it is more resistant to moisture than down. I'd go for down though.
