Mine was delivered today in time for our American Labor Day holiday...I had fun all day long...I made pork carnitas, black beans, pinto bean, and shredded chicken....also made rice, but it took 10 minutes, not 7, but best rice I've had in a long time....

This thing is amazing. I bought it about a month ago and it's all I use now. I used to eat out all the time (single dude). Now I am eating a ton healthier and losing weight. Really a great product. It would be nice to be able to control the temp on the BROWNING functioning, but small con compared to all the pros.

When using the Quick Release method to release the steam, I always cover the steam hole with a paper towel or cloth - when you release the steam, it usually contains grease or oils from the cooking process, and that stuff gets all over the place.

We tried it, very good product. Be sure to break up frozen meats into smaller pieces to cook more even. Cooks fast and makes less heat in the kitchen than using the stove. This thing has just got to be more energy efficient than an oven. I think if you don't know how to cook, this would be a great way to start. Just follow the video.

Alright Trisha, since you are the Fagor small appliance expert I have some questions for you regarding this product: 1. Are there any foods/meals that you DON'T recommend preparing in this unit? 2. Can you put foods in from frozen (meats, vegetables, etc.) or must they be defrosted first? 3. I am looking for a unit that will make my entire meal at once (ie. meat, broccoli and rice), much like a crockpot, but in far less time. Will that work in this unit? Thanks!
@Msquared1122 жыл бұрын
You have not shown the finished products closely enough or long enough. Also, when doing the short ribs, you said you already had the meat seasoned and browned. Can't you brown in the Insta pot?
Can I use the Fagor Electric Multi Cooker to cook dried beans? Do the beans need to soak overnight?
@saradelahera9 жыл бұрын
+Dinorah Bommarito Pantano Hi Dinorah, yes, you can use the Multicooker to cook dried beans. You don't need to soak them overnight. If you soak them they will cook faster but it is not necessary. Thank you.

I just got this pot it is new. No one used it. My question is when I start it and I have it set to pressure. The steam is coming out of the pressure valve. Is that normal or is something wrong

I bought the 4 quart model and the timer never would start counting down. So all the liquid in my rice got absorbed while the display still has the 3 flashing lights.

The instruction manual says not to cook pasta in the unit but the demonstration shows pasta being cooked with the mussels. Can you clarify this? Thank you.
@saradelahera8 жыл бұрын
+Julie Earnest Hi Julie, all manufacturers are supposed to include the instructions from UL, the laboratory that tests and approves the electric pressure cookers. Pasta can be cooked but, since this is a type of food that tend to expand and create foam while cooking special attention needs to be paid so the unit is not filled more than half of its capacity between food and liquid. Thank you.

+Sara de la Hera Garbati Thank you for your answer. I decided on the Lux model and am cooking my first meal in it right now (beef stew)! I was a little nervous about pressure cookers but your video was very reassuring about the simplicity of use and I think the experience will be quite different from stove-top pressure cookers. I love the browning feature, it was really fast.

Thank you Julie. Enjoy it and let us know if you have any other questions.

In this video are you using the 6 or 8 qrt version? Is the 6 quart big enough for say a pot roast or whole chicken? or you need the 8 quart for that?
@matthewrosso85696 жыл бұрын
We have the 6-quart version, and got a chicken in it.

My 82 year old father bought the 4 quart version in November 8, 2016. It's been setting on the counter top and no one has used it because there are too many steps for my dad to remember how to use it. And I'm more of a "Subway - Eat Fresh" kind of person. LOL
@saradelahera7 жыл бұрын
Kay, the only steps to follow are to press the button of the function you want to use, adjust the time and press the Start button. The cooker will built the temperature, or pressure, and will start cooking once it reaches it, therefore the timer will start the countdown. Once the time is up the cooker will switch automatically to the keep warm function until you press the Stop button. Please advise if you have any other questions. Thank you.

Just got one of these. Do you have a non-teflon aluminum cooking pot option? I'd prefer cast iron or steel. thanks.

Can you use it as a canner?
@saradelahera9 жыл бұрын
Prepper Angel Good morning, the answer is No, you cannot use it as a canner since Electric pressure cookers don't reach 15 psi or 250F. Thank you.
@PreppingAngel9 жыл бұрын
Hi. I'm at 10 psi in my region for a traditional canner. :)
@saradelahera9 жыл бұрын
Prepper Angel Good morning, the research we have done instructs us to follow the regulations from USDA and the temperature needs to reach 250F, which a pressure cooker working at 10 PSI will not reach. Therefore we cannot authorize canning in our Electric pressure cookers. Thank you.

how do you turn off beep while it is c ooking
@saradelahera8 жыл бұрын
Arthur, the unit will beep when it reaches temperature, or full pressure, and will beep again when the time is up. If it keeps beeping during the process it means something is not being done correctly. What function are you using? Thank you.

I have the same Fagor but just noticed it doesn't have slow cookin g options.
