Hi Sean. The bike looks amazing. Very Rad! My custom 1982 GT pro was stolen in 1985. It took me three years to save up and purchase the bike as I only earned one to two dollars per lawn mowing. It takes a long time to mow 400+ lawns. My parents punished me and made me walk everywhere until I was old enough to purchase my own vehicle. So after 1985 I never had the pleasure of experiencing another GT. My question is about the 87 pro. Most of my practice came on dirt trails along the side of the river. I cannot imagine how much mud and dirt would collect in the rear brake mount and the 87 pro. I’m assuming feedback from trail riders is the reason why it was only used one year. Just curious do you know why it had such a short lifespan? I’m going with my guess, but no matter what it sure is a beautiful bike. Thanks for producing these videos. I know they take a long time but old guys like me really do appreciate remembering our youth. Thank you happy New Year’s and also thank you for your service.

Wow what an awesome comment. Thank you for watching the videos and sharing your story. The brake bridge was also known to crack and simply put it was more expensive and difficult to build so they went back to the tubular bridge. GT still experimented and used a flat oval like on my 89 Pro Series.

Love the bike! 💙Pro tip. In all gt race and freestyle epoch's you have to mke sure the bottom for race has no play at all and it very snug or you will have that play you talked aboput, ask me how i know. Another thing i always do is i cut a soda can and wrap it around the fork tube area where the bottom race goes and i tap it on and shouyld be night and tight. never had 1 issue since. I noticed you took the race with the bearing on it right off so it was loose to begin with, there was your issue.

Amazing GT Pro Series. I have several project bikes in the works now but your videos really have me inspired to find a GT at some point if they don't get to far out of reach. You have some of the RADest builds.

A couple of thoughts on this. First it’s a beauty. But I’m torn that you don’t have GT race hubs on it and legit SR GT power series cranks. It deserves a real 883 in the back too. It would make it uber sick. For the Epoch issue that was definitely because the crown race is incorrect for the Epoch. I have an NOS race Epoch if you ever consider swapping it back. Smart on the pipe, I used that as well. Cool video.

Is it normal to have issue with a lean back seat post bending under 200 pounds? Had one even bend the inside of actual gt frame. But I may have been landing to hard after trying to land what I think use to be called a decade!? 360 around bars and back. Maybe I expected the seat post to take more. I was a lazy flatlander who liked to sit till running tricks. Is it bad form, or are they just not meant to handle that kind of abuse? Granted, 200 pounds is a bit, I suppose, on a 20.
