Nice to see something from you again Clem! A futile attempt to repair a piece of old Consumer Electronics but I'm pleased to see that you're still alive.

If I had any intention of going further I would have, but as my first idea didn't work and this really isn't worth the effort anyway, I just decided "f*ck it!".

To know for sure what that standby line was supposed to do it probably would have been necessary to remove the heatsinks, look at the part numbers and refer to the datasheets. But I agree, it's just not worth the effort. The chips are clearly not Class D amplifiers, and traditional amplifier chips in DIL case with heatsink on top are generally pretty bad. Quite possibly they are not even overload / short circuit protected, which could explain why the system didn't seem to work...

Does that "Good for nothing" neighbor at least follow the time or does he go full ham even after 10:00pm? If so, why don't you call the police and get him in trouble?

He just does it whenever he feels like. We tried getting the council to do something, they did put noise measuring equipment in our house but he somehow knew and didn't do it the whole time it was there.

@@CoolDudeClem That is some next level asshole... Can't they use your footage for proof? Record him while it's night or something?
