Por Waffles, he was so bullied and all he wanted was some lettuce. Have you consider a spayed female to be his forever buddie? At this point he deserves peace and healthy company. By the way, I do think they totally remember past incidents like bad bondings and can act different from that first attempt in my experience

The only rescue anywhere near me that has spayed females won’t adopt to me because I’m out of state 😭😭

If you don’t have enough room on the shelves for your fleece, I would just take the absorbent layers off and throw all of that into a separate bin (possibly kept up top) and keep the shelves specifically for fleece. Also, if it still doesn’t fit, maybe try rolling it up instead of folding it to fit more on each shelf 🤍

Use Vacuum sealed bags for the fleece. It'll SUPER DUPER reduce the space needed. After doing laundry just fold and pack it right into the bags and seal them.

i understand the struggle 😭 i only have two piggies, both males, and they were bonded for over a year until they started teeth chattering a lot and seemed like they were in disagreement over dominance. i separated them and tried to rebond them again but they ended up fighting and one nipped at another (thankfully no injury). i decided to keep them as bar buddies from that point on because i didn’t want to risk them ever getting in another fight while i was in class/ at work. they seem much more content with that and having their own space. and finding spayed females to adopt is so difficult!! but i love this video. you made me feel a whole lot better about my decision to keep them as bar buddies ☺️💕

Do you think maybe if rocket was neutered that bonding him with waffles could work? Removing the hormonal element would likely make him more calm and maybe less aggressive towards waffles

It’s been studied. With other animals neutering them can make them calmer and easier to get along with others but that behavior has not been observed in male Guinea pigs.

as horrid as the risk is with anaesthesia, i think that the best bet is probably neutering rocket and putting him with a group of girls as to create a more natural herd. I really think that the benefits outweigh the risks with neutering, at least for the piggies. it would make us as owners very sad to lose them, but they would go peacefully while sleeping. but then if it goes well, they can have that social need met. poor waffles doesn't have that option as he is too old :(

Sorry the bond didn't work out. It looks like the spots on Waffles is from the fur being pulled out. And I only say that because that happened recently with my boys when they broke up and got into a fight...sending love to both piggies and all the rest.

She's going to neuter Rocket, and then keep Waffles and Rocket as bar buddies. Once Waffles passes (hopefully after a long time), Rocket is going to be bonded with one of her trios!

he's too old to be neutered at five! if i could find spayed females I would but the only rescue that spays their females is multiple states away and they won't adopt out of state
