Failed Diverter Valve 2.0TFSI + Whats to come on the A3

In the previous video for the A3 we installed the CTS Turbo intake and encountered a very loud whining noise that almost sounded like a bearing issue somewhere in the car. After doing a quick investigation we found the Divertev Valve to be SOAKED in oil potentially due to a faulty PCV.

What was the symptom? Was the turbo still working?

Pierberg is the manufacturer Audi commissioned to produce those DV's. So you bought a Genuine Audi/ VW part. I would **strongly suggest** updating the timing chain tensioner as your next mod. Those things are notorious for fouling.

@@ThatGuyTyy No worries. Oh, and those PCV's are trash, too. Make that a regular maintenance. I replace mine every year. You don't wanna pull the DSG to do a RMS...don't ask me how I know. I've got an '08 A3 TFSI and have had it for a while now. Awesome cars, but they can turn into money pits if you don't keep up with them. Also check out FCPeruo. They have a lifetime guarantee on EVERYTHING they sell. I get all my stuff from them. A lot of the time they are cheaper than ECS tuning. I think they should be able to ship to Canada as well.

Hey, I have a noise on cold starts. When it sounds like the flywheel, but when you press the clutch pedal, the clutch release bearing sounds, but it only happens on cold. when the car get heat. it just doesn't sound anymore. What could be the problem? It's a 2.0 TFSI audi 8p 6 speed manual

Best thing to do is to take it to a vw/ audi specialist. As they only work with these brands will be able to diagnose any issues. They will have up to date state of the art machines, computers etc and will be more knowledgeable. Most of them would've worked at main dealers for years. So find one close to you.

Could still hear the noise as well mate. I have the seat Leon mk2 tfsi bwa engine. Stage 1 map ram air oversized induction kit upgraded dv plus gfps prim decat and pcv delete. I have a similar boost problem you get boost but when it hits 3,3.5k the boost jumps around. Airmass sensor code showing but changed that.

I change pcv valve kit and dv to S3 8p. Now i have epc light on and p0190 fuel rail and p0343 camshaft position sensor error codes. Wtf? 🥹

It's been a couple of months, and honestly still haven't solved it, it's been looked at by a couple of Audi geeks here and there and have all said it's just turbo noise, still never heard anything like it so I am always cautious to this day!

Hey there, I've got pretty much the same high pitch sound at high rpm on the exact same plateforme ever since I installed my unitronic intake. Never had the problem before. We'll be checking if everything is sealed soon just incase I misintalled any of the fittings.

I know Pierburg supplies parts for VW. I didn’t know the dealer would sell you a Pierburg diverter. So your diverter is not stamped with a VW/ Audi logo? Which dealer?

@@CC-uh8gl You are correct, Pierburg supplies the dealer replacement parts, so no VW/Audi logos on that one, but it is an OEM spec

It was just a VW dealer in Canada, just call your local dealer and ask them for the pierburg one specifically
